I don't like Julia Roberts much to begin with and think she's overrated, but #6 is one of my most hated lines... actually I crack up whenever I hear her say it. Just the way she says it makes me want to smack her with a big fish. That's right... a big fish.
They purposely picked movies that people consider good. I laughed my ass off when I first saw/heard Gibson yell that ten years ago. It was HORRIBLE. I think it should be #1. Independence Day sucked too except of the UFOs and the blowing up of the cities... What about: "If I can change, you can change, everybody can change!" ~Rocky Balboa
Not an actual line, but the cheesiest "moment" in any film is when a group of chick start breaking out in song, usually in the kitchen. And any Sandra Bullock pratfall...too numerous to mention.
Cheesiest lines ever: Have you ever seen animals make love, Frank? It's intense. and What kind of name is Chance? Well my mother took one... ---the funniest part of this line is it's none other than Jean-Claude Van-Damme saying it. Can anyone name these movies?
Not really a particular line, but I thought the end of Back to the Future III was just really cheesy.
That's a shame. I've seen 5 of the 10, and two of them are in my top 5 movies of all time. Titanic I loved because of its attention to historical accuracy. I've been fascinated with its story since I was 7. Braveheart is a can't miss for anyone. Of the two, this is the movie you've got to see, even with the one cheesy line. Go see it!
Doesn't he also say that to Bodhi (Patrick Swayze) and delivered the same way when he first confronts him about being a bank robber?? But I think you can go through that movie and pick numerous Keanu lines as cheesy ones. Yet, somehow I find myself liking that movie. I always thought Chong Li's line of "You broke my record, now I break you," in Bloodsport was incredibly cheesy.
I think that for a lot of these movies, people simply picked popular phrases that they recognized. "Cheesy" was the early nineties. I don't see the problem with the Braveheart and Independence Day lines. Faced with annihilation at the hands of bigger and stronger enemies, two leaders tap into the emotions of their men in an attempt to inspire and steel them for the battle ahead. What's the problem with that? The rest were pretty stupid, though. I saw Ghost on tv the other day and laughed in disgust so hard that my ribs hurt. "Ditto"? And to think, someone was paid for writing that.
