Uh, what you just said Dallas would do to us. They'll be fighting heavily to win. I'm going for the Hornets.. I think it's still a better situation for the Rockets.

it probably won't make a difference for the mavs. the last game against us, they wouldn't know the seeding just like us, since denver and portland play after we play the mavs. plus, what's the big difference for them b/w the 6th and the 7th? so likely they would put a fight against us anyway. it's the last game of the season at home for them, they wouldn't want to leave a sour taste in their mouths by losing that one.

otoh, new orleans' chance of winning at least one of their remaining 3 games is probably today. and they need to win at least one to stay out of the 8th from their perspective.

does anyone realize that we have to lose one of our last 2 games (to the team that loses today) to just about guarantee the jazz of an eight seed (if they win out)?

jazz have tiebreaker vs both teams

if we beat both teams ourselves then the loser of todays game will end up 8th if jazz win out

No, the rockets don't need to do that. The lakers will beat the jazz on Tuesday, and I say it will be a blow out. The jazz will be the 8th. Their fate has been sealed.

I think New Orleans loses out and finishes 8th.

if utah plays the lakers in the playoffs it is an absolute guarantee that at least on of the teams we struggle with will be knocked out..

I think New Orleans have a good chance to win today, and they also have a good chance to win SAS. They are a tough match-up for the spurs.

The lakers have a good chance to sweep the jazz. At most, 4-1!

folks, who cares who you root for. What YOU want will not change anything unless you are at the game waving behind the basket while the teams shoot freethrows  Let it play out, the ROX will play who they play. Now, teams can decide to tank or hold out players etc and they and only they can affect playoff positioning and once again we have no control in that.

I would like to see a s****ty hornies team beat down a supposed hot mavs  team today.

so you want us to root for the Mavs so ONE game of the REGULAR season won't matter?!?!? On top of that it would increase the chances of us playing dallas int he 1st? No thanks, i'd rather have NO win, secure the the #6 spot, and take our chances in the final 2 games. Even without Yao, i like our chances against an injured NO team, plaus Deke ain't a scrub, he increases our interior D and rebounding, the rest of the team just has to make up for 12 pts or so, which i think they can do..

lol, I know, that's a really dumb way of looking at things. It takes away all the fun.

I really don't care who are we facing in the first round. I would say bring them all in... As long as we keep the 3rd seed in the West, we have a better chance of reaching the WCF because we can avoid the Lakers in the 2nd round.

    1. Portland - the Rockets are bad match-up for them.. 2-1.. should have been 3-0 if Roy didn't make that hail mary shot.
    2. San Antonio - they can still be dangerous, but with Gino... out, we have a big chance of beating them.
    3. New Orleans - we can beat them hands-down
    4. Dallas - I know they have the momentum right now... this is going to be an interesting match-up
    5. Utah - they are great at home, but horrible in the road. If we get the homecourt advantage, we can win this series. Last year we didn't have Yao for the series and Rafer at the beggining, and this year it's TMac but we have Artest, improved Scola, Landry, and Von in place of Head... I would say time to beat the Jazz

    Go Rockets!!!!

Ok, let's have a healthy Utah j*zz lose to the Lakers. That would be much more satisfying.
