That is the problem...say what you want about Tracy, he still has the kind of upside that can help lead this team to a ring. Despite all the negativity around him, he is still a guy who yearly gives the team at least 20/5/5, being the Rockets' best playmaker, perimeter scorer and overall court general. Those players are very good and will definately be more durable and consistent than T-Mac...but with the team we have now, none of them can make this team a serious championship contender. With T-Mac, you take the risk of injuries, laziness and inconsistency. However, his upside and ability to play at a 29/7/6 level in the postseason is why he should NOT be traded for 3rd tier stars or a package of role players. Only if you can land a Kobe/Paul/LeBron/Wade, you have to take the risk.
Because I dont blindly worship a player on the team who doesn't know how to win I have to find a new team? Naw, that would be bandwagoning. Tracy needs to find another team to ruin. What do you want him to have? The Western Conference All-Stars as his teammates? He's already proved he's a loser and he chokes down the stretch(4th quarter). Stop with the excuses. Everyone else on the team is playing the same schedule. All the greats played the hard schedules. Do you ever hear Kobe, LeBron or Wade complain about the schedule. Ever hear them complain about getting tired? Why don't I call out his teammates? When his teammates have his contract, his commercials, endorsements, notoriety and expectations to carry a team to victory, then i will. If he doesn't want any blame, then he should give it all back or don't take any credit for the wins. Funny how everyone I knew always ridiculed Malone, Stockton, Ewing and Barkley for not winning titles. Yet, this guy should get a pass when he can't even get out of the first round? Hopefully Morey is smarter than yall(not hard) and realized this guy is a loser. His life backs that claim up. Loser.
Oh, and men questioning another guys sex life is kind of...well...gay. Yeah, what'd you want me to reply with? Pics of me in action? lol@ yall.
heck wiith the numbers. I wonder who carried a yao-less rox team to a 22 wins miracle and no.4 birth place in one of the most competitive playoff runs in the history. It's only freaking December now. Why the hates so soon.
yup.. mac carried the rockets to everyone of those 22 wins. yao was gone that entire 22 games. mac played. actually scratch that, mac single handedly won those 22 games.
yeah right...but you aint gonna get kobe, kg, td or bron for tmac... and you're kidding yourself if you think the likes of michael redd or richard jefferson would fare better than tmac in houston with the current team. so what's your problem??
Loser? The guy is a multimillonaire, has his own shoe and has his face in the cover of a videogame. If anything, his life states that the guy is a success in life. What do you have that gives you the right to call someone like that a "loser"? If tmac dies right now he would have achieved more in life than you ever have. If anyone is the loser here it's you....LOSER A lot of people here have already pointed out, but Tmac is one of the top playoff performers in history. How you can equate with being a "loser" is beyond me lol. A lot of the sane people in these boards are not homers or blind tmac worshippers. We understand that Tmac is already a shell of his former self, but even so he still has the capability to produce, and at times regain some of his former glory. As for your point about choking in the 4rth quarter, let me point out that the 4rth quarter doesn't award more points than the other three, unless you live in some insane world where every basket in the fourth counts as 8 pts. As long as the player produced well the entire game, why the frock would you care when he scored them? 28 pts is 28 pts no matter in which quarter you scored it. Clutchness is overrated--people call Kobe one of the most clutch players in the league, but his clutchness certainly didn't prevent his team from going into the lottery when Shaq left, didn't it? One last thing, of course Kobe and PP won't complain about fatigue...none of them have an arthritic shoulder or knee problems DUUUHHHH Seriously, I'm getting tired of all the Tmac Bashers and the Yao Ming bashers in here. Crticizing players is one thing, but most of these guys don't even check their facts before they go shooting off. These two are our franchise players. If you don't like them why don't go troll in another forum? Kobe will always welcome nut-huggers like you with open arms
t-mac is a good guy, but i feel that he's kinda like lamar odom nowdays, not very comfortable with having to carry the load, and not what houston needs to win a championship
what's with you all hating on the Lance guy? he's pointing out the obvious that t-mac wont' lead houston anywhere, how does that make him a rockets-hater or anything?
hahaha....this is why i love Clutchfans!! we come out with the weirdest things. this is a very creative way to criticize a player. anyway, lets hope the Lakers or the Celtics pick you up as their new GM
What kind of statement is this? Did michael jordan win 6 rings single handedly? No. Could Bulls win 6 rings without Michael Jordan? I am afraid Not.
Again, you're coming at me with reckless emotion and no facts. His numbers are great in the playoffs. You know why? Because he hasn't faced more than one team in any year! I dont know if you know this, but the playoffs get harder as they go on. The first round is the easiest. Of course his averages are high, they're going to be when you play fewer games. Who would you rather have in a playoff game? McGrady or Jordan? But T-Mac's averages are higher, so why not pick him? That's right, because Jordan did it for multiple rounds. If you don't think points in the 4th quarter matter, you really have no knowledge of the sport. The 4th quarter is when the best players must come through to help their team. You're right, 28 points is 28 points no matter when they're scored. But when it could have been 35 instead of 28, beacause he didn't score at all in the 4th, then it kind of matters doesn't it? You think the greats are the greats because they only scored in the 3rd quarter? Learn the game.
Again, I dont have to find another team beacause I dont like the way the ones on the current team are performing. That's not how it works. You think the Bobcats fans love all the players on their team? Should they find another team because their general manager doesn't know how to draft or get players? It's not on me to find another team. It's on the organization to put a winning product on the court. They're trying to get my money, my ratings and my loyalty. Not the other way around.
the problem is you're not looking deep enough into the stats when you are using stats. you stated he disappeared only against the best teams. well, that statement is FALSE. the games he has played really bad in this year is where he had 0 days of rest (b2b) or 1 day. and that is due to his knee swelling up/getting sore due to the fatigue of playing too much and not having enough rest (b/c his knee is not at full strength yet). when he has some rest, he's still putting up all-star numbers. but sure, you can say goodbye to him. he's not gonna go anywhere. if it's that hard to watch him, then don't. nobody is forcing you to.
What's the excuse for last year where most of those numbers come from? Again, I'm a Rockets fan. I watch the games. I dont watch for McGrady. I watch to see how my team does. One player isn't going to dictate when I watch. That's called bandwagoning. I do appreciate you at least discussing this reasonably though.
Here's my question to yall: Would yall rather see McGrady on this team, or someone who isn't coming off of knee surgery, someone who doesn't get tired or at least use it as an excuse after a big game, someone who can score for his team in the 4th? Are yall attached to McGrady because he's a Rocket, or because you just like the guy? My first question is a hypothetical right now of course because I dont think he's going anywhere this year. Just answer it. Clearly, yall have to admit, McGrady isn't what he was. So are yall holding on to the past or what?
Its a team game. When it mattered, Tmac showed up and his team did not. Look at Paul Pierce, under your criteria, he is a loser. He just happened to get lucky and fall into a great situation. Prediction: Even if the Rockets win the title, people will still stay that Mac needed Artest and Yao to do anything.
