The thing that's always got me with this subject is the fact that guys are just as pissed off at the dude who's ****ing their girlfriend as they are at the girlfriend herself. If I walked in on my girlfriend cheating on me, I'd beat me some ass - don't get me wrong. But I wouldn't touch the guy. At least until after the girl was sufficiently "learned". I mean, whose actions are more directly responsible for eliciting these horrendous emotions in you? Your cheating b**** of a soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend, or a random guy that just wanted some ass?
since beating your gf's going to solve the problem i mean don't get me wrong, the dog house is a great place for a woman sometimes when there is misbehavior involved. one should never resort to physical violence though.

(warning, some NSFW dialog) [rquoter] Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: [after discovering Private Pyle's unlocked footlocker] Jesus H Christ. Private Pyle, why is your footlocker unlocked? Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, I don't know, sir. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: Private Pyle, if there is one thing in this world that I hate, it is an unlocked footlocker! You know that don't you? Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, yes, sir. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman: If it wasn't for dickheads like you, there wouldn't be any thievery in this world, would there? Private Gomer Pyle: Sir, no, sir. [/rquoter] To paraphrase R. Lee Ermey: If it wasn't for dickheads like you, there wouldn't be any adultery in this world, would there?
If you meet a girl, are attracted to her, ask her out, she accepts, you go out, have a great time, and during the evening she tells you she's had a boyfriend for a couple of years that she's been thinking of splitting up with, and that now upon meeting you she's going through with splitting up with the guy... what's that?
From my point of view, if the laws let you do that, then it is ok to do it. So to your quesiton, I would answer yes. If people don't like that, we can pass laws to stone the cheater and cheatee again.
If you're in college, it happens more often than you think. I guess it's okay if she's thinking break up soon. But don't let your ego surprise you if she cheats on you. There's no silver lining to these stories. It just happens.
So you think laws = ethics? In the antebellum South, the law said that it was OK to buy and sell people. Does that mean that you would consider slavery ethical right up until the end of the Civil War?
Hey! I've been married 29 years to my wife, and haven't strayed. I was in that situation before then, and wasn't making it up or attempting to make excuses. Lord knows I wouldn't lose sleep over it at this late date. I was serious. If you go out with someone and don't know that they're seeing another, and they are seriously thinking of breaking it off, and they tell you, how are you supposed to react? The "other guy" (or girl) are going to be history soon, anyway. Should you blow off someone you like, that likes you, when they are going to split with the other person regardless?
I can't even count the number of girls I've seen at college bars/clubs that have made out with another guy when they already had a boyfriend. I'm sure it's the same for guys, but I don't pay them much attention.
