Wow. He's an idiot for admitting that he cheated his way through dental school on a public bbs, but that's a dick move for someone to submit it to a news organization.
While I was alarmed at the callousness several posters made in regards to cheating I feel it would go beyond the scope of our "community" to take matters beyond the BBS. Having worked on academic dishonesty cases, I know that it is difficult to disprove a cheating allegation and would thus never take action unless I had concrete evidence that an infraction occurred in my "jurisdiction" (for lack of a better term). For all I knew, rezdawg's posts were puffery. Therefore, I can assure everyone that I had nothing to do with contacting any third parties. Good luck, Rez. Hope you see the light.
I think the bigger story is the number of anti-dentites we have on the BBS. It is very alarming and sad to see in this day and age. I thought we were all past that point.
how do we know it was a cfans member? maybe it was a fellow classmate who happens to know rez and knows that he posts on this board (or just found out somehow). maybe that classmate felt they were working hard without cheating while rez and the other classmates were on easy street and that didn't sit well. i don't really know. i mean, rez didn't exactly make it difficult to find out who he was. still sucks for him.
Yep. I knew this would happen. This is why I emphasized how stupid it was for him to keep talking about this. You can't be too careful about things where your job can be affected. It just wasn't very smart. Unfortunate that it went this for - but it started with a really really bad decision to open up about something that should have been kept to himself.

Since rezdawg decided to delete all his posts today - I'll respond to this one: I did a search on all open forums on "junior member" posted by rezdawg and found several threads. Wow, things really escalated fast. That really got out of control. Honestly though, whoever is feeling compelled to not only contact the school, but to also contact a news channel really is taking things too far. Why would anybody feel the need to take down a perfect stranger just for the satisfaction of proving a point? There's really nothing to gain from doing that other than personal smugness.
