You're right. I was just trying to play devils advocate.

I never came upon a prof that would look at calculators. Not even in calculus. Most bio/chem classes were in auditoriums with a large amount of students so it wouldn't be feasible to enforce a policy like this.

While there is a fine line in doing homework with colleagues, I think there is a difference.

You can do homework together by guiding each other through the question. The person who needs help has to have the integrity of wanting to find the answer while the person giving help has to be able to guide the person without giving the answer away. I don't consider this cheating.

On the other hand, if the person who asks for help just demands the answer without justification or own self-discovery and the person who knows the answer gives it to him, I consider that cheating.

I don't mind the first scenario. I've done this plenty of times on both ends. However, I deplore the second scenario and will never be the one asking for answers or giving answers.

Ive gone ahead and deleted all of todays comments that I have made.

I think its pretty crappy that someone would report this to the Boston news...and here I was thinking that the BBS here is like a family and that its a place for people to come and argue, discuss, comment, etc...

    I was wrong.

You finally made a smart move. Now just leave the thread. I think you should realize by now that nothing good will come out of your continued posting in this thread.

I think this thread needs to be locked, obviously this has escalated too far and is causing more problems then it should have.

I mean it is one thing to disagree with one another, but to report a person you have never met and over a internet forum discussion is just taking it too far.

Dude...if someone is low enough to rat you out to the University, why wouldn't they send it to a news station? It's a pretty ****ty thing to do assuming it was someone that doesn't know you and shouldn't have any interest in the outcome of your career, but you could have seen that coming after someone posted a huge picture showing a news website in Boston.

What?? Are you talking about that picture a few pages back that someone posted? I'm pretty sure that was a joke.

Rezdawg, I know it's difficult to just leave this thread after all that has happened, but, as others have said, that would be the best move. Just do it. Nothing good is going to come out of you continuing to post on this topic. I think you've made your point and you've demonstrated that you won't back down from others when they question you.

what makes the internet what it is that you can become anonymous. people will hate or like what you post. Don't allow the "haters" the tools (your twitter) unless you are prepared to take the potential backlash.

you kept it going for too long and some people whiether you like it of not will go far and beyond just to prove a point.

if you want to give the serects of your personal life you better do it with buddies at a bar that way you can find them.

    lessons learned.

There a few of them. I'm leaning toward one poster, who seems very passionate about this thread, and its not Ronny or mic. Whoever did it is a grade A douchebag. I hope they get hit by a bus. They clearly have no loyalty, and that is all that really matters in life. Clutch should nuke this thread.

I think I know who you are talking about. Sucks it had to come to this. Lesson learned for everyone I guess.

    Good luck Reza

clearly its Air Langhi why else would he start this thread? :p

    j/k of course

dunno who 'snitched' and while i cant say that i agree with what they did i can understand what would lead them to it.

i certainly wouldnt snitch on rezdawg here i dont need that sort of karma coming back at me especially when his cheating had no effect on me in anyway.

had this been someone in my classes admitting to cheating thats a different story then, i would be more compelled to report them
