Boston University finds e-mailing yourself copies of a test from a professor's computer (as stated in this thread) acceptable? And homework assignments are meant to take up no more than 1-5 minutes of your time? The Dental Program at Boston University, ladies and gentlemen. What would you like to accomplish in a face-to-face situation that can't be discussed here? You're clearly a pathological liar with nothing to lose and emotions that fluctuate way too much for your age, so I don't see the benefit in meeting up with you. Unless you can convince me, and everyone else, that you are capable of behaving like a responsible and reasonable adult. Who's really putting on the defensive tough guy act, and who's just being real?
Started reading this thread and was just appalled at those who have defended cheating, and in some instances, criminal behavior. rezdawg, if I were to learn you were my dentist I would drop you like a rock and report you to whatever medical practice board would be applicable.
I love how we tell children that “everyone else is doing it” isn’t a valid excuse, that “such and such did worse” isn’t a valid excuse – but then turn around and say the same s**t when trying to justify unethical behavior. And ethics class isn’t gonna help this guy. Those things don’t teach anything. What Rez is really missing in that part of the conversation was that the dude talking to him was telling him he had been unethical. Truth be told, there’s more to gain in catching all of the future cheaters than going back and busting this one. He’s gonna work with you to get you to help him root out other cheaters, but he doesn’t respect you. This is no different than a mob informant working for the FBI. The real lesson Rez would have us learn here from his perspective is: cheat if you have to, cheat if you can, do whatever it takes to get ahead, no matter the cost. And in reading all of this I love the excuses of how much good he does for other people, how no one he treats has ever had anything but the best things to say about him and so on. Alright. Put a big sign up in your practice – you know, for full disclosure – letting everyone know up front that you cheated your way through dental school, but hey, you might as well keep coming here because ‘all dentists do it’. Would that impact your practice negatively? I wonder. And you are thoroughly stupid for coming online and discussing this any further. Stupid stupid stupid. Man, I would never snitch on something that didn’t directly affect me. It’s unnecessary. I understand it, but I wouldn’t do it. It’s a personal choice. But answer this one for me. This guy who you talked to is concerned with the integrity of BU’s Dental program, right? If the person who turned you in would be willing to turn you in for cheating, what would prevent this person from writing an email to a Boston area newspaper or television station about this situation? You just gave us a lot of detail post-phone conversation which essentially promotes your opinion that BU will sweep this under the rug. Something like that might alter a faculty members decision to let you off the hook, don't you think? Still think it’s that important to be the anti-Almu and publically chat about all this? Your obvious arrogance (naivety?) would probably think no, but again - I wonder. Either way, to tempt fate that way is unbelievably brazen to me. Pretty funny stuff that your long post after your phone call mentioned that he told you to learn when to shut up – and then you came on here and wrote a post all about it. I know you’re a dentist, went through all this school, etc – but dude, you seem really stupid in the common sense department. Really stupid. And since it’s so important to you? I’ve never been in grad school. Nope. What I HAVE been through is that I’ve had the same shortcuts presented to me as every other human being ever has. But, the one thing I’ve never done, is gotten busted on something and tried to pass it off as “no big deal.” Unethical behavior is unethical behavior. PERIOD. The fact that everyone else around you is doing it is more sad than anything. It certainly doesn’t absolve you of anything. This is just like the “I was just following orders” excuse in the military. It doesn’t fly there and it doesn’t fly anywhere else either. It’s bulls**t is what it is. When I make mistakes – which everyone does – I own them. I learn from them. And that’s my biggest problem with you. You’ve learned nothing because you don’t feel like you did anything wrong in the first place. It’s only wrong if you’re caught, is your stance. If everyone else is doing it, why can’t we? That’s you in a nutshell. And no, I don’t know what my dentist did in school – but I do know what YOU did. So – I for one am glad your name is linked in your twitter account. Now I know the ethics of at least one area dentist for sure. You may not think you’re a scumbag – but at least one person thinks you are. I don’t know you enough to call you a scumbag – but I do find your education hollow, and I don’t think that any of the good deeds you do to cover up for your academic situation changes the fact that you’re a cheater. Maybe you’re from a school full of cheaters, maybe you’re from a vocation full of cheaters, but you’re still a cheater nonetheless. That much is not debatable. Bottom line is – if you’re okay with that – that’s all that matters. Only you have to live with it. I didn’t care about this two weeks ago, and won’t care in two more. And if you don’t care about your own integrity enough to decide to do what’s right instead of taking every shortcut available? Why should anyone who DOES care, care if you don’t like that they think you’re a scumbag for feeling that way. Doesn’t matter how much you defend it – it just IS.
I agree. People like Ronny just enjoy to rip other people, but when the tables are turned he turns in to a big....well you know
So how would requiring people to do the work without cheating produce zero dentists then? Cause that is what you already said would happen.
me: "do the work or gtfo" you: "then we'd have no dentists" this means you are saying that no dentist could pass dental school if they had to do all the work *or* that no one would bother with dental school in the first place. you seem to miss the point of every single post now... and as others have said, the point of this entire ordeal. i'm starting to become amazed that you made it through dental school, even if you cheated your ass off...
Repped for being one of the single greatest posts I've ever read on the boards. You managed to sum up pretty much every thought I had on the subject.
"Dr." Rezdawg, The quote was in reference to your unfounded accusation of me going behind-the-scenes and snitching. As a so called professional, I would expect your reading comprehension to be a little stronger. You, feeling emasculated and attempting to re-garner the belief and faith you had in yourself previous to this thread, decided to become an internet hero and ask for location details. All this from a Boston University dental grad. How embarrassing. P.S. Sounds like something Tom Cruise would do in Mission Impossible. The good news for rez, however, is resident Persian cheerleader Pete Chilcutt's arrival to save the day with some cutthroat analysis. If you can't beat them, join them.
great...how i have to find out if my dentist is a rockets fan...if so, rather than trust him, i will actually have to hold it against him. what a sad day.
