Regardless. Rez will think twice before posting personal info. and whoever did go out of the way to email the school is a douchebag and deserves no respect.
interesting thread, just now noticed it. rezdawg, you admitted to everything to the Professor? I bet he was recording that call. Hope he doesn't change his mind crazy...
I doubt it. It seems like he was doing some probing, trying to learn more about the academic integrity of the program, and what a former student had to say about it candidly. Seems like he could learn a lot more that way than trying to nail rez to a cross or something. Smart professor, whoever he was.
i wouldnt go that far saying he deserves no respect we dont know who it was chances are it was a lurker or who knows maybe there is a lurker/poster on this board that currently does attend the same school (or any other dentistry school) as rez did and DIDNT cheat and probably is upset that rez/others did and got away with it and also probably was able to get a better grade because of it. it does suck that someone did tell the school rez could have some serious consequences but i guess what he was told to do was actually pretty fair and while its more work for rez at least it taught him a life lesson he can pass on to his future kids/relatives etc. good thing it wasnt anything worse. its weird that the school knows who probably cheated based on how long they were logged in for when taking quizzes and they aren't doing anything about it really. you would think they would try to penalize these students somehow there has been a lot of great threads over the years in the hangout this is one of them rezdawg has now will be known in bbs infamy i dont know if thats a good thing or a bad thing for him though
I think the life lesson learned is that when you cheat on online homework assignments, leave it idle for about an hour before submitting.
Unfortunately, you don't get to choose. The schools choose you. Unless you really like paying 50-60 grand tuition. Scholarship too I suppose.
If the school told people they knew this was going on, that is exactly what they would do. Seems like an interesting tool they could use to bust people for having a sh**ty work ethic. Although NOT expecting people to take the path of least resistance is foolish. Schools need to figure out how to assign work that cannot be subject to this kind of cheating.
Sorry forgot the smiley Rez, you don't buy the professors argument that dentist need to be able to handle multi-tasking under pressure? I thought you said yourself to make the most money you need to be able to see 30+ patients a day. Sounds like the school is trying to set you up for success, not failure.
I read through the whole thread, and I have to say, rezdawg is really lucky nothing serious happened. I'm starting med school in July, and this has really given me a new perspective on things.
If anything, this thread goes to show the intelligence of people who rely on cheating. Doing online assignments in less than a minute, posting all kinds of "illegal" personal information with your twitter link in your sig, that stuff just isn't very smart. I'm too classy to snitch. Don't let my facetious nature get the best of you, rezdawg. I think you're a loser, and I'll tell you the same thing in real life, but there's no way I go out of my way to rat someone out like this. I'm a confrontational, face to face type.
I asked because I thought he had gotten into other schools, but just choose BU and just wanted to know why he choose BU over other institutions.
