I still don't see how there is proof that can be held against, rez. He was never caught cheating. For all I know he could have made that story up. Its like me saying I killed 5 people in 1984. The cops might want to investigate, but in the end of the day, if there is no evidence they can't take any action or charge me with anything.
Quartermaster Clerk: One Swedish-made penis enlarger. Austin Powers: [to Vanessa] That's not mine. Quartermaster Clerk: One credit card receipt for Swedish-made penis enlarger signed by Austin Powers. Austin Powers: I'm telling ya baby, that's not mine. Quartermaster Clerk: One warranty card for Swedish-made penis enlarger pump, filled out by Austin Powers. Austin Powers: I don't even know what this is! This sort of thing ain't my bag, baby. Quartermaster Clerk: One book, "Swedish-made Penis Enlargers And Me: This Sort of Thing Is My Bag Baby", by Austin Powers.
thats what i was thinking. be kind of funny if it really isnt anything at all, rez getting all worked up/nervous, they just wanted to get some kind of paper work done or something.
I just read this entire thread today for the first time. And seriously.... No one else thinks it is laugh out loud HIGH-LARIOUS that this dude was snitched on over comments he made in a thread about whether or not you should snitch on a cheater?? Cruel Irony, thy name is thus. And - I think this seems to at least partially answer the earlier question about where the bad karma went.
I wish...but the doctor that called me is the same guy that determines if someone gets kicked out or not, he deals with students that fall behind in grades, he determines if a student needs to remediate something, etc... There really would be no other reason for him to call. In the meantime, trying to talk to as many classmates as possible to get a feel for what I should expect and the things I need to do/say.
Im not hiding who I am and at this point what difference does it make one way or another? I dont see the point of taking it down now. If privacy was such a major issue for people, then facebook, myspace, linkedIn, twitter, etc...they wouldnt exist. Im not going to change how I am and what I do because some d-bag tries to bring me down. I do what I want and I'll deal with things as they come my way.
Look, I don't want to pretend to think that whoever turned you in (if that happened) did the right thing or had righteous motives, but you need a reality check. If you did nothing wrong, you'd have nothing to worry about correct? So perhaps your anger is misplaced here. You (by your own admission and by your current level of guilt and nervousness) broke the academic honesty policies of your institution and then plastered it all over the internet. I hope you don't get in trouble (really I don't want you to get in trouble man) but if you do, you should probably turn that finger around and point it back at yourself. Whoever turned you in (lol if this is all about nothing in the end) didn't cheat in grad school, didn't post it on the internet and didn't attach your name to the posts. It's on knee. Er...you.
Just deny everything. Just say you were joking or say I don't know or I'm not really sure to every question he might ask. At this point, the less you say the better.
I strongly disagree. Students cheat because they are lazy and scared of failure. Once they realize failing...I mean actually studying, and failing hard then they can really learn something from it. It happens to everyone. Either you can cheat and be a little b**** about it, or you can study harder without the pressure. The pressure of getting an "A" to some students is so much that they see cheating as the best route to take. Just do your best and hope for the best. What's the point of doing all this work if you are not learning ****?
Ive never said Ive done nothing wrong...but what I have said, and still do say, is that its a very common thing given the environment we were in. It doesnt make it any more right...but that's the way to survive. I can guarantee that things are still the same up there in Boston...I still get messages on facebook from students that are in the classes below mine, asking for old exams, quizzes, remembered questions, etc... I just think its really low for someone, that isnt even involved in the situation, to go through the effort of making it into something like this. Lets assume absolute worst case (which I dont think it will get to)...worst case scenario has me losing my license, right? What benefit is that to society? Ive done some pretty good things for people...Ive never done anything to harm any of my patients. So now what? Someone wants me to pay for something that is insignificant in the grand scheme of things? I think thats doing more harm than good. It is really pointless for someone to go through the trouble of bringing me down. I dont think its too far fetched for me to be angry at this person, who knows nothing about me and has no reason to get involved.
What? Who said Im not learning ****? I know plenty...and I know just about as much as any dentist, one year out, can know. Ive done well on all my board exams and my licensing exams...and Im taking another exam in May that will have me licensed in all 50 states. Not many dentists can say that. Nothing I did in dental school prevented me from learning everything I need to learn.
Yeah, I hear you...I mean, when it comes down to it, there is really not enough evidence for anything of significance to happen (at least I dont think).
OK... the fact that we're discussing ways for rez to deny/dodge this IN the thread where he was busted is pretty damned funny. Kind of like the robber returning the scene of the crime to make sure he didn't leave any evidence behind, only he forgot to wear gloves, and in the process, leaves fingerprints everywhere.
I still can't believe someone took time out of their day to compile posts on clutchfans.net and send it to a dental school. And you can still deny everything. For all they know (or we know for that matter) you were making the whole story up. You could have created it for the sake of argument because you thought some people in the thread were ass holes and you wanted to prove them wrong no matter what. That can be a nerve wracking situation
Study harder if you want a better grade. It's that simple. Don't care too much about your GPA. If you don't do well a "C" here and there is not going to kill anyone. If you have to drop the course retake it and do better next time.
