Anyone know? Quality is important too, i guess. Dont want to have it break down on me. Then again, these things dont really break down, do they? Or is anyone wanting to give theirs away? Mostly looking for a power rack to do squats and bench press and a pull up bar. Ive seen some prices online and they are insane. Even on craigslist.
Craigslist. Every year after New Years people buy a bunch of workout equipment and never use it, then turn around and sell it.
My goal: To get ripped, not build mass. Workouts i want to do: Squats Bench press Dead lifts Pull ups Kettlebell workouts Pretty much just want to stick to workouts that cover the whole body.
Look into Insanity. I've been doing it fort he past 2 weeks and it's great. Quick 30-40 minute workouts you can do at home with no equipment. I do it on Xbox too, so it tracks how well you do with the kinect camera so you can try to beat your personal best and improve your form.
Quality equipment will last a lifetime so used is definitely the way to go. Your best bet is craigslist. There might be nothing now, but if you're patient something will pop up.
Nordic Track / Flex is the best affordable sub-commercial/industrial equipment. Just remember to wipe off the perspiration and tighten down all the key bolts every 20 uses or so.
Set up a routine. If you can't set up a routine at a gym, its probably not going to work at home either.
If you live in a highly populated city the gym could be a long and inconvenient walk. Around here there's bike/pedestrian routes that take you to community center and even that cost a yearly fee. Now if you bought your own equipment onsale with interest free payments you'll find that you can work out in the privacy and comfort of your own home. Some people don't like to work out in front of other people.
Planet Fitness is good for newbs and casual gym goers like you. people of all sizes so you don't feel intimidated bench pressing your smith bar with 2 10 lb plates $10 a month. Can't beat the price
I used to have a routine. I used to be really buff. Lost all motivation these past couple of years and really let myself go. Im by no means obese now, but if i continue being like this, i eventually will be. And my membership is at planet fitness, ftw rocket.
So what stops you from going? Look health and fitness is a lifestyle change. Just because you buy some fancy equipment at home doesn't mean you will be using it regularly. I'd wager you'll use it for a bit because of the initial excitement and then stop. What you need is not new equiment but a mentality change.
