quoth the Raven? Is he even available, or LMA a better option to get at 4? Chad Ford thinks we may go after him if D12 falls through. Link - http://www.blazersedge.com/2013/7/3...rsue-trade-for-blazers-f-lamarcus-aldridge-if

I know this sounds crazy but I think realistically Cole Aldrich is our best bet. Cs are not cheap, even backup Cs. He did a good job backing up Cousins. Has good size, is 24 and has a decent O game and rebounds at a decent clip. And he should go for what we can afford.
In a perfect world, Greg Smith and DMo. When Yao was here, Deke was not the backup center after Scola arrived. Scola and Hayes were. Backup center is unnecessary as long as the coach is willing to accept the lower level defense when he's not in. The problem arises when a coach keeps his starting center in the game for 40+ minutes because the backup is giving up too much in the paint. Which is how big men get tired out over the season and become more injury risk. As long as Howard remains on a reasonable minute count, his backup doesn't have to be a true center.
