But Lebron does all of that as well.

At that point, I doubt having Scottie Pippen would've put them past the Celtics alone. Ironically, you left out the part where those Celtics squads were amongst the best in history.

then the flip applies. MJ won titles during the watered down era where the great ones like Pistons, Celtics and Lakers were aged and past their prime

Your logic is so horribly broken that I'm not going to even try to correct it. What's the point? Obviously you have some sort of mental defect, and you wouldn't be able to understand it. Rather, I'll just play along.

At least Jordan was able to get to the playoffs each year. And the Bulls were able to get to the second round when they added rookies Pippen (8 ppg, 4 rpg, 2 apg) and Grant (8 ppg, 6 rpg, 1 apg).

On the other hand, whenever Kobe hasn't had the best front court in the league, he's either missed the playoffs or was knocked out in the first round.

In other words, to get to the second round, Jordan needed a few rookies who averaged role-player numbers. Kobe needed the best front court in the league.

It's no wonder Jordan is the GOAT and Kobe is between 11-15.

you guys can't just put Youtube highlights of MJ's top 10 defensive plays and say he is a better defender.

I should just put Ron Artest's top 10 defensive plays or Joakim Noah's top 10 defensive plays and make them look awesome and then claim they were better defenders than _________.

I honestly don't know who is a better defender since I wasn't old enough to watch those guys in their primes.

I agree if you just look up Rondo defensive top plays he looks like the greatest defensive pg ever especially considering the modern perimeter defense rules.
Just look at these highlights from one year about post defense(something rondo doesn't typically deal with)

We should try and look at hard stats, but of course differences across eras will always be a point of contention.

I agree with this. Had it not been for Jordan, Pippen wouldn't be considered one of the 50 greatest of all time. Very overrated.
