Budinger's definitely putting out the effort. He made several hustle plays that led to baskets or rebounds. OTOH he not only missed jump shots, but his missed jumpers seemed to frequently lead to fast break scores by GSW. That probably had more to do with the Golden State lineup that was out there, and exacerbated by a less than 100% Brooks. As in almost every game, Chase's inability to stay in front of his man led to a few breakdowns on defense, but GSW did not really look to go at Bud this game. Overall not a bad game for Budinger. He seems to be getting better at not letting the negatives in his game affect his overall effort.
I think we may be starting to see the limits of Adelman's patience with C-Dud. I expect him to get a bit less PT from here on out unless he makes a miraculous recovery.
Chase is arguably one of the most athletic guys on the team but he plays soft. Terrance brings more to this team offensively and defensively. Hopefully he gets his shot.
Really? Terrance brings more on offense and defense. Please explain how you have reached that conclusion? Is it based upon his stellar play for the Rockets? How? You may be right, but please tell me how you have figured that out being that the guy has not played one minute for the team, and was sent to the D-league for arguing with a good NBA coach in AJ.... What if he sucks, what then? DD
I think CBuds skills have not failed him but his confidence has, with the addition of TWill houston should send CBud down to the d league for a few weeks to get his "MOJO" back.
LOL. DD's gonna reach 100K posts just by defending Budinger and Brooks. Man, I loved Budinger last season. I thought he'd be something special. This is just so disappointing. I can forgive his shots not falling. Every shooter has some cold streaks. But his other games aren't improving at all. The flashes of court vision and BBIQ as a rookie has completely disappeared. What is wrong with him?
Neither of which are Rockets.....and I don't HATE anyone...I just choose not to like Ron Artest's style of basketball and think Melo is overated.... This is like the DD bash-a-thon, people coming out of the wordwork to get a shot in. Changing subjects, piling on.....typical. Evidence of...never said any such thing.....our guards defense is pretty poor.... DD
Did you even watch the game? His airball led to a fast break and he couldn't play defense to save his life.
Sorry, what does that have to do with you saying I hate Melo or Artest? Yes, he airballed a shot....so? DD
Well, this thread certainly took a turn. Some of you guys need to lay off the personal insults.. that's not funny. DD's entitled to his opinion like anybody else. He gets put under the microscope so much because of how much he posts. But he's allowed to change his mind -- we all should be. Before this stretch, we had never really seen Lowry in action as the starting PG. He was always energy off the bench. I think a lot of us thought he could transition into the starting role, but without him actually getting the chance you never really know. One of the main criticisms of Lowry was that his shooting would hurt us. That was really the thick of their argument -- but Lowry has been incredible. Check out this stat from Clutch: Now, before we pile on with the "I told you so's!", Lowry is not a 50% three point shooter. Hell, he's not even a 40% three point shooter. So eventually, his shot will hit a wall and his average will come back down. I think if he got regular playing time, he would probably shoot around 35% from downtown this year. Also, Aaron Brooks is clearly not healthy. It's obvious watching him, he just doesn't have his speed back yet. When Lowry first came back from an injury, he looked awful as well. Let's give Aaron sometime to get healthy and adjusted with this team. Brooks never really got a chance to gain chemistry with the club this year, as the Rockets opened up with the 0-5 stretch before he was injured. He hasn't played since. In a few weeks, we should have a better idea of the situation. The one thing I do like Lowry for is something DD touched upon earlier. He mentioned that Lowry and Brooks have the same court vision -- Brooks just chooses to take the shot more often, as opposed to Lowry who looks to pass. When you look to setup your teammates as Lowry does, it gets them into the flow of the game. Now instead of watching Brooks break down his man on the perimeter and waiting for the pass if his man collapses, Martin is running the court and looking for Lowry to feed him the ball. For instance, the transition three-pointer that Lowry setup for Martin in the final minutes of the game. Lowry ran the break into the paint, then found his best three-point shooter wide open on the perimeter for a HUGE trey. I can't help but think, Brooks would have taken the break himself. Maybe he scores, maybe he gets fouled. Maybe Martin misses the three-pointer Lowry set him up for. But I just like the idea of a PG whose constantly looking for and aware of where his best players on the team are. Guys feel more involved in the offense when they get to touch it more, which leads them to play harder and give a greater effort on both floors. They WANT to get out and run because they know they'll be rewarded for it. Lowry just seems to be able to get more people involved in the game to me.. ..but we haven't seen Brooks gel with this team yet. Lowry has made the most of his shot. If Brooks regains the starting role, he'll have to show he can develop the same kind of chemistry that Lowry has.
Who cares, honestly, this fool is so inconsistent. I'd rather be giving these minutes to T-Will, since we all know he's got the bigger upside and potential.
Fine, whatever you say...he is not a Rocket anymore....who cares? Not saying you are wrong, but how do you know that TWill has more upside? One of the worst teams in the league just gave him away for nothing. DD
