The format is terrible, why only one round and what's up with fan voting ?? If Shumpert wins, people will claim it's because of the Knicks / Lin hype etc. Budinger might have hops but he's never done anything creative, hope he at least tries because he's not that competitive.
Yeah, thanks a lot ****ing ESPN. They might as well change their name. During football season, it should be called TebowCenter. After football, LinCenter. It's become beyond ridiculous. If Lin played for any other team aside from the Lakers or Knicks ESPN wouldn't give a flying ****. I hate that they are all on that East Coast/NY bull****. It drives me insane... I wonder how many times Jeremy Lin has taken a **** today... Better tune into LinCenter to find out!
I really think that in the popularity driven contest this is going to be, if Chase has any chance of Linning, he needs to go prop heavy. Bud has some amazing leaping ability and hang time, but his body control in the air isn't fantastic. If I'm his dunk consultant, the first dunk is a pretty basic dunk to get the crowd a little excited, and to build some momentum. Power windmill, or a through the legs reverse, something that he can nail in one try. Since we rig the competition so that Bud gets the cleanup spot after Shumpert, right after Shumpert does his inevitable Jeremy dunk, you trump him by bringing out Yao and either jumping over him seated, or let him hold the ball at the rim, and Bud leaps up and grabs it. If you can't get Yao, how about jumping over Alex Morgan, who's only 5'7", could give Bud a header as an alley-oop pass, and might be the only thing on the planet that could trend on twitter better than Jeremy. Or how about MVP Aaron Rodgers, who also lives in the greater San Diego area, throwing a football to Bud, and Bud dunks both a football and a basketball into the hoop? For the final dunk, go back to the Volleyball roots. Put up a mini Volleyball net at the level of the rim right in front, and get a "set" alley-oop from some young beach volleyball player, and do a Perkins-style dunk where Chase goes straight up and down without touching the volleyball net, as if he were making a legal spike. Maybe even another volleyball player on the other side of the net trying to block him for effect?
Can you believe that it has only been a week since the arrival of Lin-sanity. It does seem a lot longer.
This might have already been brought up, but his video on the NBA youtube channel has 67 likes and 307 dislilkes, hahaha. <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/AE2mF2nntTc?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/AE2mF2nntTc?version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Shumpert won, no one knows or cares about the other guys outside of their fans. Just when I though the dunk contest couldn't get worse...
It's amazing how so many Rocket fans run down our own players. Look at it this way, no matter what he does he will without a doubt be way better than Kenny Smith was. I think with the New York vote and the Asian vote that the contest is already predetermined.

even as a rockets fan I would dislike this video. Those dunks are terrible, the sad part though is that it's supposed to be a "highlight" video...
Chase with 38.5 vert, Shumpert with 42. These guys are athletic beasts, especially Shumpert. I really don't understand the dislike this year, all these guys are really good dunkers with hops, not too big or too small. Perfect contestants if you look at it from a dunk potential standpoint. Being a star doesn't mean better dunks, we all saw this.
Dunk over Yao in a wheel chair!! ...and I can't believe Lebron never did the dunk contest thing. What a p***y.
