If CBud learns how to create his own shot and play D, watch out. As it is, he is already great shooter coming off picks or spotting up, awesome on the break, and a very good finisher. Phoenix is kicking themselves for passing up on him.
Wow I just realized I made this video and posted it here on Chase's birthday! Happy belated birthday chase.
You know what, I owe you an apology for derailing an excellent thread....and video. Well done sir ! DD
Sorry I helped derailed your thread. I saw the "Chase Budinger" title and I thought it was just a thread on Budinger. If I had watched the video and knew its content, I wouldn't bother to go into Budinger's value. Since that's not the point of this thread.
wow. why is this even a discussion? I'm would take Turner over Budinger in a second without thinking twice and ever looking back.
an all-star. really? i don`t know. he`s a solid player who does everything well. athletic, intelligent. but by no means is he as good as some of you state IMO.
Great mix, thanks. I was definitely surprised to see Chase slip to the late 2nd. Back when I used to keep up with mock drafts, he was projected lottery. Good find.
Sometimes the numbers to look at are those when it counts. I hope we don't lose sight of that. Beyond skill, winning teams have grit at the guard position. Kobe, Fischer/ Ginobli,Parker/ Billups, Hamilton/ Wade, Posey/ Ellie, Maxwell, Cassell/ Too many soft players will catch up with us. With that said, I don't think Chase is soft. He is cut from the same cloth as Yao Ming as far as court demeanor. With a little bit of Ginobli-edge to his game, he can do some damage.
I was interested to compare Martin's split between last year with the Kings and with the Rockets. He had almost the same number of games with each. In 22 games last year with the Kings his true shot percentage was 0.535, sort of so-so. In the 24 games with Houston, that shot up to 0.586! It's not the 0.600+ that he's averaged some seasons, but I think it gives us some hope that he can get back towards his elite career level. Kevin Martin ranks #19 all time in career regular season true shot percentage at 0.5983. That's rare company for guards.
No way Chase has superstar potential, none at all. I love Chase, but that's just severely overrating him. He does have court awareness, high IQ, etc which makes him a great role player, possibly a future 3rd option, which would be great.

Not too much, but at the beginning of my video against the bobcats he did. And if anyone wants to request a mix, let me know.
nice work on the vid OP. Oh, and DD........please, as a fan who has followed Chase well before you did.........get off his schwong please..... I've always said he's perfect for our team as an elite role player and I still hold to that opinion, even though there are times where I'm still woah'ed by his skills and athleticism, especially that last game against Sac.
