If Bud continues to go to the basket and not settle for jumpers he will be beastly. 3 times last night he was wide open for a 3 and instead drove to the basket for a dunk/layup/and1.
Chase and T-Will are perfect complements of each other, much like Lowry and Brooks were last year (before Brooks sucked this year). Chase has the ability to catch and shoot, shoot from distance, and play well without the ball. He can't create his own offense and is not a good defender, both which are T-Will's forte. Battier's absence will prove to be a positive move for us because his style did not fit our team anymore. As someone mentioned, our defense was not going to win us games anyways. My only regret is that I wish Orlando kept Marcin Gortat and we were able to trade Battier for him.
I think we will Chase and Twill play minutes together when rick want more size in the lineup. Guard lineup of Goran , Chase and Twill would create match problems for teams like Golden state who have smaller guards.
Well, it looks like the Rockets are good to go as long as Chase scores more than 14 pts too, just like Battier. haha:grin:
I actually saw last night with Battier gone that the starting team were getting out and running more. Battier wasnt really running the fast break much but with Chase out there it seems that they were going at it at each opportunity. Didn't we have our highest fast break points in a game last night? Now I like Battier as much as the next guy but he certainly didnt fit into our new style.
Right, if he starts out blazing hot in the first 15 minutes, he'll get left in another 15 minutes cuz he's the hot hand. You can say (for example) in career games Chase has played 42+ minutes, he averages 27 points! But then it could be he only has ONE career game like that, where he HAD to be left in by necessity

Basically just give him twice his usual minutes and he'll at least give you at least 14-15 pts/game if you round down. The encouraging part is his SHOOTING %s are excellent when he starts. An indicator that he can be counted on in starter minutes. As compared to Carl Landry who okay as a starter (with the Kings) but shot WAY better off the bench. STILL its too small a sample size. But its better seeing that, rather than it being Trevor Ariza type numbers as starter.
Lowry/Martin/Budinger can be great if they just play equal defense to that of which was being played by Lowry/Martin/Battier. I think Battier really regressed this year, so I think that is plausible.
Carl Landry played here as a backup alongside...........you guessed it........Kyle Lowry. Which is exactly why Budinger is flourishing with the starting unit. Kyle is not looking to score. He's looking to get guys shots and get them going. He did it off the bench. Now, he's doing it with the starters.
