Tyrus Thomas equaled Scola's production this season.

    No, not really.

    Scola: 16 points, 8 rebounds a game

    Thomas: 9 points, 6 boards a game

Scola played about 10 minutes more a game, but he was still better.

i think that's what he's aiming at...he equaled production when time is adjusted......he's definitely not as good as Scola, but the point it people see his low production as not fulfilling a certain potential, but he's really a 15, 10 and 2 player, which is enough potential realized to be a good player in this league...main problem is he's not getting minutes.

also the environment he was in wasnt the best...pretty free flowing guys, take the shots you want, when you want them, especially when Gordon was there. In charlotte it's not that much better with Jax ball hogging and Ratliff/chandler as your co-pilot, who no one had to guard much on offense.

I'm pretty sure somebody like Michael Beasley could match the production of just about any big in this league if given heavy minutes. Does that mean I should start jumping off the deep end with comparisons too?

No but when you compare a 29 year old player to a 23 year old player, you should make some allowances for experience. Tyrus Thomas was much better under Larry Brown which might point to the fact that under a more structured environment, he would be highly productive and effective. At 23, the story is still in the early stages.

I think that after Slowmile Swift, Houston and Memphis fans should be grateful that we are not the teams that have to pay him, youth and potential be damned.

Disagreed. I've seen enough of Tyrus to know what to expect by now. The guy is a complete flake that thinks simply showing up is good enough. You can point to similar PER's or per 48-minute production levels all you want, but I think we all should know better than to think something like that tells the entire story here.
