Money was NOT an issue. Both were very signeable.

Told Williams he was the guy in the last 24 hours.

Williams fills a MUCH greater need.

Thinks Bush will be a dynamic player but harder to find a great DE in the league. (just like he brought up in the morning about the Colts' decision between Edge and Freeney)

Mentioned Bush may not playing X amount of plays a game (just like he did this morning).

Williams 6'7 with 40' vertical, same as Bush who is much smaller.

They thought Williams was right with Bush as the best player in the draft.

He is excited about Houston, a good character guy and is a hard worker. Reminds him of how Andre Johnson goes about things and loves football.

Says if anyone doesn't like the pick, blame him and not Mario.

Reminds him very much of Julius Peppers.

Quality DE is going to have a big impact on the football team.

    Switching to a 4-3, they lacked DE's.

oh and i cant wait for a big play that bush might make next season, not on the texans, and the threads that pop up every where... :(

i like either 1 of these guys

While I hate the stupidity of not maxing the value by at least trading the pick, I really hope fans don't take it out on Mario. He's going to need the fans behind him, not against him.

Seriously, a DE going to be a savior...c'mon...It's not his fault, but at the same time, being a #1 pick imply's a lot of responsability and a lot of criticism...

Another great draft by Casserly and crew...

    Actually Kubiag overruled Casserly.

Kubiag told Casserly to beat a team like the Colts you can't outgun them, you need to play championship defense.

    Casserly = Texans Information Minister

I can't wait for the beatdowns by Manning and hopefully VY. 4x the fun.

That's my problem. Fine, take Mario...but trade down a few spots and take him.

5, 6 years from now when Reg - gie is washed up and Petters er I mean Super Mario continues to be the Beast this will prove to have been the best call.

    Now, please get an OL.

Texans will regret about this decison at the end of next season. They made a huge mistake by bypassing BOTH Bush and Young.

espn reports 5 teams already contacted Saints for no 2 pick.
I would think at least we could have gotten WIlliams and a trade or something.

I'm not so sure Casserly will be gone. All we've seen is that one report, correct?

Saints would have probably taken him at 2.

If we wanted Mario, we take him at 1.

Considering how they handled this situation, I tend to agree that he is still a key part. (I agree with the Mario pick, but think they could have traded down)

It's much easier for a DE to be a savior than a RB. There's a reason it's considered one of the cornerstone positions while RB certainly is not.

then TRADE to the Saints for Deuce and Williams?

Just because the Saints suck doesn't mean they are that stupid, they would have picked whatever player we didn't pick and be happy with it. Both players are good and this draft is one of the better ones as far as talent.
