A "chosen 1" that can't deliver in playoff is not overrated?

I don't think Howard is overrated, he's the best center in the league. But no one regards him as an all time great center.

This is hilarious. This list blows. Vince Carter overrated? Uhh... I don't really here anybody talking about how explosive he is or how he dominates every single game. Vince has lost his touch we all know that, this guy...

    LeBron overrated? LOL.
    Dwight overrated? LOL.

Sure the issues he mentioned with LeBron and Dwight were correct, but seriously.. they are both better than every other player in their position, or at least top 2. (Dwight cannot compare to a HEALTHY Yao).

I do agree with Joe Johnson though, after seeing his game in the playoffs and during the season... he is definitely overrated and overpaid. I'm actually surprised Rashard Lewis didn't make this list...

100 percent agree with everything except Dwight Howard. LBJ could have ringSSSSS if he ever learned to play the post.

    Lebron's playoff averages last season:
    29.1 ppg, 0.502 FG%, 9.3 rpg, 7.6 apg, 1.7 spg, 1.8 bpg

Not as good as his regular season stats, but any way you cut it, Lebron was sick. Other guys have played worse and gone on to win the championship. I never understand why the team's best player gets the blame for playoff losses, instead of its worst.

Because the best regular season team's worst player didn't get the MVP either, what do you expect?

It's the MVP award for the regular season. How do you think it should be determined?

No. They know better than anyone else. The Hawks decided that re-signing him at that ridiculous contract was better than losing JJ for nothing. It was a "no-win situation" for them and they chose the supposed lesser evil.

Or, one could argue they weren't in their right mind by offering him that contract. I gave several reasons in the JJ thread at the time.

when you are far and away the best player, people have higher expectations of you.

when he put up 35, 8, 8 2 years ago in the playoffs, we now think he can do that every time.

so those stats you posted, he can do better.

again, like lebron said, he spoiled us.

At some point a player can only do so much...
Even Jordan probably wouldn't be able to carry the Cavs team LeBron had to a championship. Or at least he would have only won one at best... Just due to his pure ability...

Main difference on where you are wrong.....

MJ had the mentality to win the games.

LBJ was too busy doing his dance routine and thinking about The Heat.

It doesn't matter if LBJ doesn't go to the low post as often. WHat about all the rebounds, points and assists he gets? Not to mention his good D? Of course it would be better if LBJ goes to the post more often, however even if he doesn't as he is LBJ's already pretty good. I admit he's overhype with all of this "King" business, however you also can't deny LBJ been playing at a level higher than anyone else in the league. I'm not sure how you can call the best player in the league as "overrated".

Same thing with DH. Some people call his offense "mediocre", however he posted one of the best FG% in the league and led everyone in the rebs and blocks. Even better his intangibles are amazing-he doesn't create drama and he clogs the paint masterfully, discouraging slashing and making the opponent resort to jumpshots. How is he overrated? LMAO, you probably can't find a better defensive/rebounding player in the league. To top it off, he's working on his game, working out with Dream this summer. Overrated? More like underrated
