Oh, here comes our resident Rocket-hater again. He completely destroyed whatever shred of credibility he had there when he claimed that Rafer forces his drives and would rather shoot than pass. Hah. Then he goes on to claim that David Wesley is slow and that Luther can shoot the lights out but can't defend. About the only player he assessed accurately was Ryan Bowen. But even a fish could assess Ryan Bowen accurately, so that isn't saying much. Yawn.
Charley Rosen is incapable of being unbiased where Van Gundy is concerned. He absolutely hates Van Gundy with a passion, and as a result...hates the team and players he coaches and hates the city in which he lives. I think he made some fair (albeit overly harsh) points though.
Don't worry aboiut what this moron says. The Rockets are still in this and with Tmac coming off a solid allstar game I think we will win atleast 20 of our remaining games this season. Go Rockets!!!
Despite some of Rosen's previous crap articles, this one is not that far off. I don't agree with what he said about Rafer, but everything else is pretty much correct. In any case, we did play a horrendous game against Phoenix, so I think we have to own up to that one. That being said, we're not dead quite yet. If we can play with a little more passion, our team will about as good as last year's. I was actually pretty happy to see that Rosen analyzed the basketball skills of our guys. I think most of us know by now that Yao, while good, has some serious problems dealing with the quickness of many players in the league. Diaw is just about the worst matchup for him, as he's a fundamentally sound defender who is significantly faster than him. The PHX double on Yao is similar to the old Seattle trap that used to give Hakeem fits (remember '96?). But Yao is much slower than Dream and it's even harder on him.
So this guy wrote a whole article diagnosing the Rockets problems after watching one game? He used ONE EFFING GAME for all of these points. ONE EFFING GAME in which no adjustments were made by the coach to correct any of his listed inadequacies. Yet no references to the coaching in this game other than to say JVG sat Yao and Tracy in the third and to make fun of Van Gundy's appearance. So here's my version of the same article after having watched the last Clips-Rox game:
its crazy how much charley rosen hates jeff van gundy. i mean jeez, it seems like every two days he puts out an article about how much he thinks the rockets suck. this guy seriously needs to get a life and find better things to do than write s*** about the rockets constantly.
