The Jazz haven't won a playoff series either with this current cast. Hell, they haven't even been to the playoffs in several years. So why is Barkley so quick to assume that the Rockets have no shot against them?

I think you worry too much about CHarles.

I do think what he said about Yao needing to defer to T-mac was spot on though.

There has never been a team that I have wanted to win more, than these Rockets....

majority... of nice guys... hardworking team...

yet so much dislike of them....

I guess they need to shoot at someone... to get some respect

Why is Charles worth having him praise the Rockets? I rather him and Kenny keep dissing the team and when the Rockets win the Championship it will be so sweet.

I'm glad nobody still mentions us. Even the Lakers and Nuggets get more praise than we do. It's all good though. McGrady doesn't even get MVP talk. I feel he should be 3rd on the list behind Dirk and Nash.

Realistically the only team I think Rockets won't beat is Phoenix with a healthy Nash.

But it's entirely possible that Dallas could knock them off for us.

But to beat them right now I think the Rockets are definitely going to need Yao healthy and a better point guard STARTING with Alston on the bench.

And when I say point guard, I don't mean a shooting guard in a point's body ala Mike James.

If we could somehow pull off getting a legit starter at point, maybe trade Bonzi who knows.

I think at the beggining of the season he said we wouldn't make the playoffs either.

Not to point you out in particular, but I don't think anyone has mentioned that we HAVE beat the Mavs. 2nd game of the season, but we demolished them by 30. Check our schedule. So, the only team we have shown an ability to beat is the Suns, who I'm pretty sure that we've played close with in the games we've played, but let them put them away.

Like someone else in the thread said, with T-Mac and Yao healthy, it's just us who stands in the way of our championship.

The Mavs started off terrible, losing 4 in a row. They were a different team when we beat them. The Rockets have not proven that they can beat the good Mavs team this season. I believe they can (heck, they almost beat them without Yao) but I am not going to b**** about an unbiased commentator saying the Rox can't beat the Mavs when they lose every time since the Mavs first win of the season.

There is a time to be a homer and then there is a time to be real.

Everyone is b****in about what Barkley said...

Well the fact is until they beat them in the playoffs then he is telling the truth. Beating them in the regular season doesn't mean Jack Schmidt; the playoffs is where it counts.

The fact that everyone is saying when Yao gets back.. when Yao gets back.. What about when Yao gets back? I am like everyone else hoping that good things will come and the team will jell together. But unfortunantely we don't know what is going to happen. Yao may come back and disrupt the flow of the team or jvg may try to force feed him the ball down low taking everyone out of their game. The fact is we may or may not be able to beat the elite teams with our superstars.

The first step is to make it into the playoffs... Then they can prove to everyone in the media that they can beat the Big Boys that are on top.

Don't fret. I can already see it. When the Rockets are in the Finals the crew will replay that over and over and you'll see a black mans face turn red.

I think Kenny, Reggie and Ernie all agreed with Charles. None of them said anything after the remark, so they all probably think Utah and San Antonio can beat the Rockets.

I am sure we can beat Utah. We can definitely beat San Antonio with homecourt advantage. Beating Phoenix and Dallas will depend on TMac and Yao's greatness.

Guys, the man plays a game on TNT called "Who He Play For?" and he routinely fails at it. There really is no reason for us to value his opinion or basketball analysis at all.

I like Chuck's honesty though. I watched the whole gamed on TNT and Chuck said many things about Mavs and I think Steve Kerr also said a lot about how The mavs can turn a game around at any time. He exactly said, "It looks like the mavs can turn it on any time". He said the mavs has a deeper roster than the rockets. And he praised T-Mac's defense on Dirk so Steve Kerr I think is more objective per se. Chuck is playing dumb. He says things to draw a reaction. He is not a dumb ass.

I know you give credit to Charles Barkley for the Rockets beating Seattle in the 2nd round in '97.
