I disagree. The reason Miami is such a great fit is that Lebron can play PG there, which is actually his most natural position. This puts Wade at his natural position of SG (where is the best in the NBA) and allows Miller to start at SF. They can also rotation the 1,2,3 as Wade,Miller,Lebron for ****s & giggles. Throw one of the top PFs in the game and your next door neighbor's grandfather to play center, and that's the best starting 5 in the NBA.

Chicago already has a top flight PG who demands the ball so it puts Lebron off-ball and less effective.

Lebron will average a triple-double in three quarters of play this year.

This isn't Shaq and Kobe here - nobody forced them together like those two were in LA. These two are good friends with a history together and chose to come together on one team. The only chance of imploding is if they're losing - if they're winning, I seriously doubt they pull a Shaq-Kobe feud when they'll be on top of the world in south beach.

You know I think Lebron learned in his 7 yrs with the Cavs that maybe he doesn't want to be the man. He's not a great shooter he is more of a passing slasher type of a player.

Teams realized they could pack the paint and dare him to shoot and he just folded up and the Cavs didn't have any great shooters to bail him out. Wade is a great player and a guy who can finish he's proved it already. He basically carried an old wore out Shaq to a title.

Bosh is the guy who is least likely to make it on his own these guys made the right choice they teamed up with a proven winner and the best player in the league after Kobe and that's Wade.

When they win that title it will be Wade that gets the most credit for it. Bosh and Lebron just joined Wade's team he is the leader and they have agreed to follow.

Ah... But here's the difference with Shaq and Kobe.... Shaq stated it was Kobe's team... When Shaq went to Miami... He said it was Wade's team... The acknowledgement was there. Now the biggest problem with Shaq and Kobe was Kobe wanted to be the lone ranger and prove to the media that he could do it by himself and didn't need Shaq.

When ever you start putting guys togethere with big Ego's one of them has to submit and follow as the other leads.... Again a great example is the USA basketball team.

Again, Lebron went to Wade and he has to remember that or it's going to be a long 5 or 6 years.

Anyone who watched the Olympics knows that LBJ, Wade, Bosh, and even Miller have incredible chemistry. There will be no lockerroom issues over who's the man because when they win titles it won't matter. Only when you have a jealous diva like Kobe do these issues come up; the rest is manufactured by the media.

Because in Olympics Kobe's the man, they gave the ball to him down the stretch and lived with the result.

And Diva Kobe's very jealous for the ringless Queen, so true. Sorry, this is too much fun. LeBron actually won something in his career because of Kobe. The 2 times without, he's LeBronze.

Wade is 3 or 4 years older than the other two, so he may very well be seen as the leader on account of that (in addition to being the guy who brought the others over). Will he be considered the best player on his team? Wade is really good, and its possible. But I expect LeBron will be their most valuable player.

LOL, they wouldn't have needed Kobe's one big shot if he wasn't bricking up so many earlier in the game. He shot 46% in the Olympics! How is that even possible on a team with that much talent? What a freakin' chucker.

At least the two best guys on that team are reunited once again.

Reality was so cruel, they were LeBronze after LeBronze until Kobe showed up.

"when everyone on the American team was staring at each other wondering who was going to step up against a red-hot Spain team, there were a few minutes of tentative, "I don't want to step on anyone's toes here" basketball before Kobe said, "Screw it, get out of my way" and took over the key portion of the game. " Bill Simmons

You didn't watch the games, did you? Kobe was parking in 3pt line for easy games, he wouldn't care.

But twice in elimination games (Australia and Spain) when they got some resistance, he's the one step up and led the scorers.

Just like LeBron got MVPs and Kobe FMVPs. What's so shocking?

Yep, I agree, reality is cruel. Kobe teams up with stars, plays like crap most of the series, hits one big shot and gets all the credit. Sound familiar? He's only made a career off of it.

Anyway, they can call the Larry O' Brien trophy the "Lebronze" from here on out, because you'll be seeing a lot of Heat championships.

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

    You guys and stats.....

Love or Hate Kobe.... The dude puts it all on the floor and their are no Stats on leadership.

Now basically this is getting off of thread at hand which is talking about Barkley's view on Lebron which I think is straight on point. It's been stated that Lebron wants to be mentioned with the greats, so in order to do that you have to be willing to be a leader and stand up when things get tough.

If it was easy everyone would be able to do it.

LOL, they'd be written "Wade" all over it if their dream came true.

No, he didn't lead the scorers. Wade was spectacular in that final game (27 points on 9-12 vs. Kobe's 20 on 7-14) . And Kobe was awful earlier in that game which caused the USA to almost blow it.

Did you really bring up Australia as a threat in FIBA? Didn't they lose by like 40?

So you didn't see the game, Australia was close all the first half.

And Kobe didn't have the high score in final game because he's in foul trouble first 3 quarters. But he scored 10+ points and dished 2 assists, fouled out the best performer in the opposing team in the last quarter.

MJ didn't outscore Pippen in every game. But Pippen never got the touch like MJ did down the stretch. That's when leader is defined.

Who give a **** if Australia was close. A bunch of teams were close after a quarter or two. They weren't going to win that game and everyone knew it. This is just you trying to handpick stats to make Kobe look good, because he played one good game and one average one the entire FIBA, and the rest where shyte. Unlike Wade & Lebron, who showed up every game and were spectacular.

Looking back on the Gasol trade it really doesn't look as lopsided as it use to. Pau had been a consistent player over the first six years of his career but had never been an all star or a 20 10 guy. When you look at Memphis getting an expiring contract in Kwame and Marc Gasol who has turned out to be a very solid big man it is not really all that terrible of a trade from the Memphis stand point. They got cap room flexibility and got a good young big man. Memphis could have done better but they also could have done a lot worse.

Gasol had been an all-star, and he was basically a 20-10 guy (20.8/9.8). He also was very solid defensively and shot a high percentage from the field without being limited in range. Basically at the time of the trade he was a top-10 big and he was given up for nothing. Yeah, we can say that Marc Gasol turned out ok but that was not expected-- if it was, he wouldn't have been picked so late. Also, he's still nowhere near as good as Pau was then or now, and I don't see that changing.

It was a terrible trade that reeked of collusion at the time, a counter to the KG trade (which at least involved Al Jefferson, an up-and-coming big).

I thought he made the all star team for the first time the year he joined the Lakers but you are right he made it once two years before that. But the 20.8 9.8 year was the first time he ever averaged over 10 rebounds and this year was the only time he's ever been able to repeat that. There are plenty of guys that can get close to being 20/10 guys but people normally make a big deal about it because it is hard to actually get to and Pau over his 8 year career was only able to get close one time so I stand by my statement on that one. I am one of the people that always thought the Pau trade was ridiculous but the whole point of my post was that if you look at it today it really isn't that terrible of a trade when you realize that the Grizzlies got a good young big man and cap relief to rebuild.

We possibly should be thankful that the Grizzlies didn't get Bynum instead because there is a chance that Gasol ends up having the better career out of him and Bynum when its all said and done. The Gasol brothers could be wrecking the west with Kobe right now. Well maybe not wrecking
