The first year he was here, he was very good (and a good rebounding complement to Hakeem)... until he got a knee from Shawn Bradley that forced him to sit out for awhile (where he predictably got out of shape).

Effort in practice or conditioning was probably not much there... but nobody could question effort on the court.

In the end, all three were older... yet still effective in games.

From now on I'll just take Barkley for what he is--an entertainer. Not a Hall of Fame player talking but an entertainer. Just let him be the troll that he is and we'll live a bit easier.

Barkley himself says you should not take him seriously or personal so why bother. His remarks and the use of the president of Syria in my opinion shows how foolish and out of touch this guy is with reality. Even when he's serious, more often than not he does not come across as intelligent or someone who used to play basketball at a professional level. He's been proven wrong so many times, I lost count. I remember some lady saying how Barkley's speech and mispronunciations was an embarrassment for the African-American community

BS he mentored a rookie Francis and went out like a G when he blew his knee out. Just sat there and waived over the trainer without a single show of pain. Dude was averaging 14 and 10.5 as a 36 year old. When's the last time a Rockets PF did even that? So much butt hurt when it comes to Charles.

He would come in out of shape but he gave 100% on the court regardless of the situation. Great competitor.

Do you understand what an entertainer does? He's there to say silly, stupid things, provide comic relief along with Shaq and help keep that stage from floating away. He's not there to be an intellectual bastion of knowledge and factual conversation. Besides, Ben Carson is a far greater embarrassment to the AA community than Charles ever could hope to be.

When he's being silly of course, but plenty of times he's very serious and still says the dumbest things.

He simply can't help himself - it's his nature. With Barkley it's "open mouth, insert foot, start talking".

    Take the job???

This would imply it was offered to him, but let's not let facts interfere with the hate.

    Carry on media...
