Bruh this s.t needs to end. He was 65 overall in 2021 so according to my calculations he is going to be 83 in 2023 logic almost never works so pls stop coming up with age argument. Ohh that's why he s.ucks a*s he is only 21 just wait he won't look like a bum when he turns 24 just wait guys.
The beginning of the end of redemption is here. Jalen is still perfecting his balance and understanding of the game, but we are nearing the end of this chapter. I was thinking he needs 41 games to find his role and strengthen his game significantly under Udoka, but it's looking like maybe closer to 30 games to get there. He will always be a scorer and Ime will force good shot selection out of everyone but what I've loved this season is his improved off ball movement, assists, hockey assists, effort and defense. He's never going to be a triple double guy that's not his archetype but I'm once again feeling confident that in his mid 20's Green's game will very much resemble Kobe's. Two way high scoring guard, good defense in the regular season, great defense in the post season, good playmaker, excellent in the clutch. With Udoka around and Green continuing to convince coaches that he can be a team oriented hard worker, I see Green's ceiling getting higher than ever. Just wish we had started working on these things two years ago, but it's worth the wait.
He's really been good with his left hand this year which was a weakness in years past. His vision and passing has also improved quite well. He's playing so much better while being "in the system" rather than being "the system" of iso.
I predict now is when we start seeing better efficiency and finishing from Jalen. I think over the next 10ish games, his game will mature and get into a higher gear. His averages for the rest of the season are going to be excellent. He's been improving gradually week to week but I think at some point chemistry will pick up and the playbook will become second nature and that's when we'll see him thinking a lot less and attacking a lot more intelligently. Can he lift the team to another level?
24/5/4 on good efficiency makes us a contender full stop. he isn't that far away despite the Corey Brewer / Jordan Clarkson allegations.
I'd definitely like to see him start attacking more, and VanVleet attacking less. I also want Green to take less 3PT shots. He's not a good 3 PT shooter compared to other guys who need to take more of those shots.
The only SG that is clearly better than Green is Donovan Mitchell and he's been around the league for 5 seasons more than Green. Bane and Edwards take 19 shots to score 24pts, same
He showed the ability to stop on a dime and nail the mid-level shot. If he gets to where that is a go-to shot, he will be unstoppable.
