Mobley is just the next Deandre Ayton. Going to take the Cavs fans a few years to realize he doesn't have "it". Green may not be either, we have yet to see, but at least he's flashed "it".

    That's a REALLY dumb take, I'm impressed.

Has Ayton ever been named to an NBA all defense team?

Did you just pick a name out of your ass and think no one would question you on it?

You do realize that attacking good players won't make bad players better right?

Yes, I was watching a Cavs first round game thinking to myself, whew....we dodged a bullet.

    Mobley sucked out there

Man Twitter is full of Sixer and Bucks fans with pipe dreams of trading Middleton or Harden for Green.

He'll learn but he isn't what this team needs. Issue is that he wasn't what Cleveland needed either. You get Mobley on a team like the Celtics with two established stars already. Garland and Mitchell are two fringe All Star types with no real alpha.

Wagner would've been a much better fit for them. Jalen is more talented than anyone on that team currently.

Our team needs fire power. Mobley coming here would make our offense even more sht.
Defense means nothing if our offense is nonexistent.

Mobley had all the help in the world and he average like 10 pts in playoffs. U think the likes of kpj controlling our offense with offensively inept Mobley gonna take us far? Green was the right pick since we needed a scorer. With the proper pg/coach green will shine.

Jalen is the most talented player on his draft class. People were always worried about his floor but always assumed his ceiling was the highest. Guys like Mobley and Cade have higher floors. The worst case scenario for someone like Mobley is a good role player on a contender.

Mobley is way better than Ayton. Almost all of yall are too extreme one way or the other. That at the personal insults really impacts the board quality.

Mobley knew he would've been forced to play center and many thought
the Rockets would not have drafted Sengun if they had Mobley at #2 pick.

This is why the Mobley crew said no to meeting with the Rockets pre draft.
Jarrett Allen came into his own that season. What I would expect from
Nic Claxton this season and why I have been pushing him. Sorry, no offense
    to your guy.

I still want Green over Mobley but Mobley is a great player in his own right. Mobley is a surer thing at this point but probably closer to his ceiling. The variance on Jalen is just crazy. We will know a year from now I think albeit Green will still only be 22. It’s all about defense and passing.

This is 100% scientifically false. 50% of all possessions are defense. The offensive possessions that turn a game are like 1% of possessions. You can climb the standings by being a top defensive team or a top offensive team.

Winning a title has always been: top 10 defense and top 10 offense. This metric has held true 99% of the time through decades of rule changes and culture changes in the NBA. It's been over 20 years since someone won a title with a middling defense - and that was a reigning champion featuring two all time top 15 players in their prime (Shaq and Kobe). Whether in the Steph Curry era or the Hakeem Olajuwon era, top 10 defense and top 10 offense has been the standard to win a title. If offense was that much more important than defense, it would not hold true so consistently.

I know it's popular to say that since people are scoring more that offense matters more, but that's only something for TV. If there are more offensive possessions (shots) then there are more defensive possessions. The balance has never changed and will never change as long as there's two sides and two teams.

The one and only difference between offense and defense is in game-winning clutch situations. In that situation, having the better offensive player/team is better than having the better defense. However, those situations are where Harden performs his absolute worst so he doesn't bring you that.

Also just to go back to your specific words in your post, defense never means nothing because it can be generated without any luck or warm up necessary. If your defense is good and offense non-existent, you can just sign any scorer to replace your worst defender in the starting lineup. It's an easy and quick fix.

You're in such a panic about Harden being the only possible solution to everything. Maybe you should stop trying to rationalize it and just admit you want it because you're a huge fan. There's nothing wrong with that, everyone is a fanboy of someone or something here. It's a fan site.

One team top in both left is Boston. Interesting enough Miami is dead last in the league on offense.

Also interesting that Sacramento as I predicted would get bounced early. They were the 25th defense and 1st offense.

By the way outliers happen like 11th defense and 3rd offense or things like that. The last major deviation though was Lakers 3rd title (Shaq/Kobe) which was a team like the Warriors that could afford to not take the regular season seriously. Lakers ended up a top defense in the playoffs anyway.

Yeah, after two years, Mobley is pretty much what he is, a great defensive player with limited offense. It's pretty good, but somewhat disappointing for a top 3 pick.

Green still has a huge range of future. He may end up worse than Mobley, or he may become a top player on a contending team.

Players have sophomore slumps. This is expected, but i'm out of patience with Green and Bari even though Bari is heading into his sophomore slump-his rookie season was it. Green in year 3, and Bari year 2. They both better grow big time on both ends. I want to see game evolution and body growth. If Jalen is still looking like a pretty little model, i'm out on this dudes mentality. He may end up a lower tier high scoring all star, but i expected a guy who could have eventually contended for a top 10 sg of all time ranking. Kobe was already filled out and muscular and toned at 21 in 99-00. Bari has another year on his body, but his game better take a huge leap forward.

Jalen Green has gained plenty of muscle mass since joining the NBA.[IMG]
