He's starting to do hesis in traffic and chafing pace more.often now. It's throwing off some of his finishing here and there. Seeing his growth at getting to the rim so easily this early shows a level of work ethic that bodes well.
Green is now at the point where 30 pt games are somewhat the norm lol. Just a reminder kid is only 20 yrs old and looks to get even better. The major issue with him RN is he is still a net negative player, isnt that efficient on offense and still bad on defense. But considering his age which makes him younger than a lot of rookies in this year's class thats still acceptable imo. Next year should be a good indicator on what his career trajectory will be.
And he's doing it with some of the worst spacing and floor spacers in the league. Imagine what he and this team will look like with better offensive structure and a one or two more players that are outside shooting threats. When defenders have to stay home for fear of getting burned on the kick out our offense will look better as well. Quick honorable mention to KPJ and Jabari for their shooting lately, definitely helps.
Im pretty stoked we took the risk on Jalen vs the "safe bet" of Evan Mobley. There have been ups and downs and he may not end up one of the GOATS, but he moves the needle on his own regardless of who is around him.
Looks like the top picks in that class have panned out for every team that took them except suggs lol
Hopefully Cade returns to good health and gives the Pistons what most thought he could be. Mobley is a high level rim running defensive big. Scottie Barnes is a fundamentally solid player. Franz Wagner was a hit. Giddey is a nice PG. Jalen has superstar written all over him though just needs a little more time to put it together. Sengun at 16, Uzi at 23 and JC at 24 was not too shabby either. STONE YOU MAGNIFICENT b*stard!
That's coaching. He needs a coach that's going to maximize his skills as a two way player and figure it out with him like Kerr/Curry and Nash/Dantoni and Pop/Duncan. Also needs a veteran PG that can run the offense and set guys up. One of the worst things going for Green right now is KPj being here. Getting him out with be addition by subtraction. Wish him luck but KPj needs to be on a team with a *lot* of veterans that can guide him and he can contribute. Have higher hopes for him than say C.Wood....but the Rockets did right by giving him a second chance in the NBA. He just needs to flesh out elsewhere.
