I think if his play warrants a selection we should try to get him voted in. Through this site, twitter, youtube etc. also I wouldnt mind some chapters on jabari smith. i like these threads
Some of knew he was good. Only idiots like @Bobbythegreat and @DaDakota thought otherwise. They'd rather spend time white knighting KPJ because he fits their narrative
I would be fine with either of them. plan A is Jalen, plan B Is KPJ, there always is Jabari and Sengun is the inbounder
Green is a star. Now it's a matter of how we build around him. Jabari hopefully is a foundation piece At worst he's Tayshaun Prince. I love everything Sengun can do. What he lacks in athleticism he makes up with high bbq IQ. Tari is a beast. That's who we roll with. I'm cool with KPJ coming off the bench. Perfect 6th man
He was not good, he was bad, like extremely bad. The physical talent was always acknowledged as unquestionably insane, but production was terrible. What you probably mean is that some people like @Mathloom knew he would become good.
This comp might deserve its own thread. In year two, Beal (age 21) played in 73 games: almost 35 minutes a game, 40% from 3, almost 42% from the field, and 1.8 TOs a game. Last season, here are Green's numbers as a 19-20-year-old: played in 67 games (almost 32 minutes a game), 34.3% from 3, almost 43% from the field, and 2 TOs a game. Today, Beal plays at 206 lbs. Green is now listed at 186, but he looks so much stronger than last year's pics (and that's not because he has lots of ink on his right shoulder/arm). Green's weight room work really shows. I'm more interested in the long view here: can Green hold up to play in 70+ games a season barrelling into contact? Can he keep making open looks and getting open looks? Is his ball handling good enough to initiate a play at half-court? 30 to 39 wins are achievable, primarily because 15 to 20% of the league will embrace losing in the hopes of landing the big W.
Beal isn't really a good comparison. Whilst Bradley Beal shot 40% from 3 in his 2nd year, his TS% was atrocious at TS 50.7% (compared to Green at TS 54.7% in only his rookie season). The reason for that is: Beal didn't shoot that many 3s (Green shot 2 more than Beal) as part of his game. 48% of Green's shots at 3s, compared to Beal at 30%. Beal shot a lot of in-efficient, mid-range shots. Nearly 50% of his shots are mid-range jumper. For Green, not only does he attempt significantly more shots near the rim, he also converts them at significantly higher rate. Green shoots a ridiculous 68% between 0-3 feet, which is higher than Kobe and Harden's career averages. At 17 points at 54.7%, it took Bradley Beal 4 seasons to get there, and Green has already achieved this in his rookie season. Basically, Green excels in the two key skills in scoring, 3PT shooting and scoring near the basket. Because he excels in these two areas, Green's game is basically designed to be hyper efficient, and it's no surprise that despite his very poor start, he still basically either beat all other rookies when looking at PPG and TS%.
No, I am aware of what I said. He was a teenager with a ton of talent but the comment's were "he's not good enough to be in the NBA " by those two idiots. Just read all the stuff Bobby and DD posted and did a complete 360 when they were wrong like always. It was always to jock KPJ. They're pathetic. No issues with Mathloom.
I wonder if Jalen is masculine enough to play well this year? Will the painted nails cause the boomers to lose it again?
Lets drop some gems before the season shall we since some guys think they can slink back into the convo without paying their dues.
Look at some of Newage’s posts about Green. They are humorous and numerous… hint hint Newage may be a bit homophobic in real life.
I wish I just hadn't but at least I know not to read any of his posts regarding Jalen again. Definitely homophobic
