Lol at the chalk outlines - "what was the cause of death?" "he caught a body on the way to a vicious dunk with no warning or concern for their safety"
I refuse to call him Corey Brewer Jr until he puts up 50 points in one game. Until then he is "Bust Jr"
With his recent performances would b quite surprising if he doesn't make all rookie 1st team. From worst player on the team to this version of green in a short time span. It is extremely quiet in the anti Green club.
Yeah if people can't see the making of a superstar here, they're just not looking Rings will come depending on who we surround him with...just like in the case with MJ/Kobe
More stat gems for our boy Jalen. Guards in the past 20 years who averaged at least 20 points in the last month of their rookie season: Anthony Edwards (24.3 ppg in the last month) Trae Young (23.7) Coby White (23.7) Donovan Mitchell (23.1) Collin Sexton (22.8) Cade Cunningham (22.5) Steph Curry (22.4) Luka Doncic (22) Jalen Green (20.8) Jordan Crawford (20) That's the entire list since 2001. "WhY YoU oNlY LoOk At GuArDs ThO??? YoU NeEd tO CoMPaRe ALL PLaYeRs!" Okay, since 2001 for all rookies Anthony Edwards (24.3) Trae Young (23.7) Coby White (23.7) Joel Embiid (23.4) Kevin Durant (23.4) Blake Griffin (23.3) Donovan Mitchell (23.1) Carmelo Anthony (23) Collin Sexton (22.8) Cade Cunningham (22.5) Steph Curry (22.4) Michael Porter Jr (22) Luka Doncic (22) Andrew Wiggins (21.9) LeBron James (21.3) Karl Anthony Towns (21.1) Jalen Green (20.8) Josh Jackson (20.6) Jordan Crawford (20) That's a nice list to be on.
Green's likely impact to the team is still likely the most negative of any player in the NBA for the year. He just played so much and was so bad for a couple of good chunks of the season. I can understand the worries people had early in the season. It is going to be very hard to tank effectively next season and play Green.
You should include scoring efficiency (ts%) also. Because I'm sure Green will be even rarer company. Make the cut off 58%.
Unfortunately stathead don't allow me to include TS% in that specific query for last month stats in a rookie season. But if we want to look at an entire rookie season: Filters: TS% > 53%; Games played > 50; FGA/G > 13; Guard position; last 20 years Sorted by TS% Steph Curry (56.8%) Kyrie Irving (56.6%) Ja Morant (55.6%) Brandon Roy (54.8%) Damian Lillard (54.6%) Luka Doncic (54.5%) Donovan Mitchell (54.1%) LaMelo Ball (53.9%) OJ Mayo (53.9%) Trae Young (53.9%) Jalen Green (53.8%) Kendrick Nunn (53.4) If we drill it down to players in their age-19 seasons it leaves only Kyrie Irving Luka Doncic Lamelo Ball Jalen Green
I admit that Junior still has a long way from reaching that 50-point ceiling. But as the saying goes, he's only 20 years old. Senior didn't do it until he was 28 years old.
I wonder what made him so bad in the beginning of the season. Was he just confused or was KPJ in his ear, trying to get him to defer, or...?
It's just the nature of a greenhorn guard getting their feet wet in the NBA. Most superstar guards of the past 20' years especially those who got to the league before they turned 20 almost all had horrible numbers their first couple of months into the season. It's easier for rookie big men to adjust because they don't have to create their own shot from the three point line.
People are still on here talking about Kelvin Cato and Matt Maloney contracts years after the fact. When does Maloney's contract come off the books, anyway? Anybody know?
Green's likely impact to the team is still likely the most negative of any player in the NBA for the year. Where are u even getting this nonsense w/o any stats too boot? It was never legit worries, people were already outright calling him a bust 10 games in. Folks were pissed and had outright disgust that we wasted a pick and a year of tanking. Don't b playing trying to see "both side". it was literally mobley mob folks pining for a rookie on the other team, using Green as a punching bag to relieve their frustration. early in the season? This sht was still going until after ASB. Not gonna lie your post is triggering. aside from the very last sentence, the rest is a bunch of nonsense to me.
VORP 584th out of 597 Raptor 597th out of 597 WS/48 177th out of 180 qualifiers. I'm amazed he wasn't dead last in all three of these. I will concede that he's been great enough long enough that his average performance is no longer conclusively the worst on average.
