Yeah some of these takes are horrible. The best we can hope for is an OK player lol

Well said. The one thing I see is everyone, including myself saying Green needs to eat tacos and pump some weights, yet Ja is lankier than Green it he punishes people. He excels in finding angles on his defenders to get to the rim. I guess I'm saying does Jalen really need to add 15lbs or does he has to refine that footwork and Eric Gordon like savviness?

those guys can't shoot, outside of Bdiddy who exceeded expectations any ways.

Ja can shoot. Ja will be fine down the years.

Ja could not shoot going out of college. He developed that skill.

    Yup huge distinction

Edit: I'll add, this is a make or break for Jalen as well. If he doesn't develop a decent to great shot he decreases his odds of succeeding a lot. If he can develop a consistent good shot he becomes 25+ ppg type of player. Fortunately shooting is the one of the easiest NBA skill to work on developing

I have grown to hate the superficial fan that completely ignores a player's truly abysmal statistics and instead is enthralled with highlight videos of dunks.

There simply isn't a way to positively describe Jalen Green's results this season. I take no joy in saying that, either. I wish he was better.

    GOOD DAY

Well Ja didn't have combine numbers from where I searched coming out of college.

But he did state that he gained 12 pounds which has made it easier to absorb
contact. Now listed as 174 pounds....so was he 162 pounds.....or now somewhere
    above 174 pounds?

    https://bleacherreport.com/articles...dded-12-pounds-got-stronger-during-nba-hiatus

Giannis has benefited from more weight, more muscle..... probably not going
to hurt Green. Jalen will still be blazing fast with 10 to 15 more pounds on him.

Like Ja, Green needs to learn the opponents and their plays.
Ja learning those two things has helped after his rookie season.

Schroder has joined the team saying he is teaching all these kids simple
things like how to take care of their bodies post games and between games.
Don't ask me where the trainers are....but Wood and Eric Gordon have been
    slacking off. Imo.

Meh game as far as I'm concerned. Was expecting better. He was the best starter on the floor at -9 but it's time for him to slowly ramp up his volume and efficiency on offense.

His defense hasn't slipped which is good.

He just sucks at shooting, there is no other way to say it....unless it is at the rim, he sucks.

Oh yes I know, I just meant that comparing him to Russ or Wall seems fair but those guys never could be consistent shooters and so once their elite speed left them it was hard for them to just get past guys.

But that's why I think Ja is pretty comparable to Green. Ja wasn't as skilled as he is now coming into the league.

Ja wasn’t punishing people at the beginning… he was known for not finishing insane highlight worthy almost dunks.

since people compare him to Ja in here a lot. Last season Ja was shooting 30% from 3 - so far Green is shooting 31% - in February it was 38%.

He gets hot for several weeks and then again cold for weeks. I don’t know if that’s conditioning or mental. But he definitely has the ability to shoot well.

i haven’t seen the last game - but the stats look ok. He had the best +/- of any starter, 2 steals and a block, no turnovers. So it seems like good defense and an overall good impact - everything he was knocked for for most of the season. Had he made 1 more three and went to the line a couple times more often it would look like a great game.

he is growing. Slowly. But the promise is there.

He scored 10 points in the final three minutes while we were down 20 and the third stringers came in for the clippers. Prior to this garbage time explosion he was having a very poor offensive game, with 0 made threes and 0 fta. The statline is misleading, he had a rough game.

Except for missing every 3pt shot he took, I thought he looked good tonight.

Defense continues to be better. Saw more cuts which I like and some pull up mid range Js after the PnR when the lane was clogged.

    Still seeing improvement

    It's a common pattern

Green will have 7-8 games where he looks like the best scorer in the draft. Nailing dribble stepbacks, open 3's, and layups. Putting up good ppg on very respectable shooting percentages.

Then 6-7 games where he can't make open 3's and gets blocked at the rim a lot. Leading to very poor efficiency and mostly mediocre scoring nights.

At this point, these up and down performances should come to be expected the rest of his first and second year in the league. If he still lacks consistency in year 3 then I think it might be time to worry a little bit.
