Maybe all the work ethics rumor we heard in the off season was actually not all fluff. He has made improvements as a rookie that I would have never imagined. The guy puts in work
Dude is legit. He's not Luka or Morant or whoever is on that tier but he's as solid as they come. We don't need an all-world player at point guard if we're projecting Green to be the type of player that can carry a team. I'd trade anyone on the team not named Green or Sengun for him and any pick(s) necessary.
Funny thing is he didn't even shoot particularly well this game, felt like average shooting efficiency for him as of late and still put up 30/4/4 on 24 shots, not bad. Makes me wonder how many games like this he would have had if he had been given the keys from the get-go a la Cade Cunningham, who routinely puts up 20+ shots and plays more minutes.
He is the type of player I would consider unloading the nets picks for. Murray pg Green sg Jabari sf Sengun pf Sengun would average some crazy assists with potential shooters like that.
Yea. I think the silver lining here (and it might be a reach) is that Green might have benefitted from not getting so many shots up for most of his rookie season because he had to make sure whatever shot he took was going to be a good one. Getting the green light to jack up 20 shots a night early on could have led to poor shot selection. Of course I'm in the camp that thinks he should have gotten more attempts but, hey, trying to throw positive vibes out there as we head into the final stretch of Tankathon.
The only knock on Murray is that he's not a good 3-point shooter. In a hypothetical lineup like yours, we would have two subpar perimeter shooters in Murray and Sengun and that could negatively impact spacing. That being said, he's a superb defender, don't turn the ball over that much, and his midrange (10-16) is solid at 46%. I'll gladly take one or two cons for a bag full of pros.
I was posting last night that nbadraftdotnet has 8 pg’s currently in the top 14 as of now. Perhaps a guard that would fit next to Green is I presume already being targeted. With Green Christopher and Sengun all looking great and so many assets you could almost have any type of roster you want in two seasons. I’m curious if the Rockets will be able to attract a good player in FA after next season.
dummy haters with an IQ lower than Jalen Green’s jersey number really brought up his performance in the Dunk Contest as proof he wouldn’t be a star because “hen was the last time a player embarrassed themselves in the Dunk Contest and became a star” How are u feminine and ditzy yet catching bodies at the rim and dropping 20+ on good efficiency on the regular? Somebody please explain that to me because I need answers
Would love to see a chart of posting frequency from haters like BTG since Green starting going on this run. Seems really quite.
I think it really depends on what hole they have left to fill after this season. My hope is that they find a point guard sooner rather than later so that they go into the summer of 2023 with, say, the center spot needing to be answered if we draft Smith, Banchero or Ivey. The list of free agent centers in 2023 are a bit more palatable with Myles Turner, Steven Adams, Jakob Poeltl, Zubac, etc. all set to be UFA if they don't sign an extension before then.
