It won't take Green long to grow into his skillset. I say 2 more seasons. If he is a 18+ ppg scorer next season he will be ahead of schedule.
I agree with this. we saw him go at Gobert twice against Utah. I wish his teammates (in the starting lineup) wouldn't leave him on an island when we all know he doesn't have the deepest bag though. Jalen gets the ball and they all watch. It's more fun watching Jalen with the rookies because it seems like they all have a singular goal to help each other together. Sengun will screen and rescreen again until Jalen gets a shot. KJ will do the same thing. Gup will dribble, draw the defense, and kick out to the open man. our vets and freaking Gary sometimes do none of that.
Green is certainly threatening a big jump right now. Also, nice call on the midrange jumper. Just a couple of weeks after it caught your eye, he seems to be using it to punish people. Amazing.
It's one of the unfortunate reasons Green got compared to the likes of Kobe and MJ coming into the league which is what I believe is the reason for the undeserved hate that goes his way. But yes, he is what I call more "pliable" than Lavine. He's more slippery and has more fluid motion. He's also laterally quicker than Lavine. Lavine has height and length on his side though.
If we really need to play veterans every few games, okay fine then but I really want to see some games where the starting line up is: JC, JG, KPJ, KMJ, Alpe Ya we probably will lose those games due to the shear amount of lack of experience but who the f cares? We are already losing pretty much every game anyways with the vets. I just want to see how the young guys play with each other outside of sporadic minutes. Green and Sengun on average probably play like 5 minutes together on the court per game. That is just unacceptable.
There is no such thing as Losing Share .....vs Win Shares. When your team is not winning, you could only eye test. Ego was clearly the best player before the All Star Break. KPJ had a very nice stretch after he threw an object and left the building. Wood has been up and down but surely contributed a tad.....I leave it to y'all to fight who is the best after the ASG. KPJ, Green, Sengün and KMJ are the flashiest players on the team.
The data is clear! So what you mean to tell me is when he isn’t just standing in the corner getting cold possession after possession and then getting frustrated and hoisting up a shot… You know what, never mind, I’m just tired because some of us have been beating the crap out of this drum all year long. I’m shocked! “But he can’t dribble, but he’s not a point guard, but he’s going to turn the ball over, but he still takes a lot of shots.” Just goes to show that all shots are not created equal. 12 shots when you haven’t touched the ball several minutes in between them is not the same as 12 rhythm shots taken in the natural flow of the offense that you are an active participant in rather than a spectator.
That should put an end to the amount of touches he gets debate, but of course it won't because people saying he needed less touches or he would do worse with more touches weren't being rational in the first place. I guarantee there's someone looking at this and trying to spin it into a negative somehow. Anyways, if you aren't a flat out hater, your eye test could have probably told you what the stats do which is the more involved he is and the more touches he gets the better he does.
KPJr and Wood gotta get up their shots quota by any means Jalen Green does not get the ball consistently within the flow of the offense, so he ends up forcing if Jalen Green just decided to play within the offense and force nothing, he’d end up with like 10 shots max and minimal touches in 30 minutes
Everybody on the team is about getting their own. I’ve said it since day 1 as something I’ve noticed. Wood, Porter, Gordon, and Tate are tunnel vision players at this stage. There is hesitancy to sharing the ball with them. If you compare the rockets offense to other teams you know what I am talking about. Passes are never crisp and always a tick late. It’s especially bad that your “point guard” displays tunnel vision, while being inefficient at it.
Exactly! Best part of any game for me is when senguin and green are in the game together without Gordon or wood
The thing that green will benefit from is the thing that benefited wall and Westbrook. He can be a one man fastbreak. If/when rockets have better rebounders, we should see some quick outlets to him and tell him to before anyone has set. With defense backing up, he can easily to by 2 people maybe even 3
