So interesting players found. Steph curry 128* Morant. 190 Duncan 234 McCollum. 287 ** I realize it's not truly 128 bc it's not taking out all the filters but def 90s for him. He is a sucky shooter Sorting it by the draft class and 15 min giddey is third from the bottom.
THis is often the case with scoring phenoms as they often need a lot of touches to get a feel for the game. See a layup or 3 go in a few times....if not go to the free throw line helps. Dame was in a slump and we had to send him to the free throw line and shoot a technical and whamo....the flood gates opened. MJ was also like that to my recollection. I always felt MJ took a lot of shots. There are exceptions though. Vinny Johnson the microwave was one.
Green struggled early on but seems to really be picking it up. Ive noticed increased awareness and body positioning in regards to help defense lately. Not to mention if he picks off a few chase down blocks as he has lately, that presence will linger in the minds of fast breakers. Id like him to stop shying away from rebounding though. He seems to be very effective when he can rebound and start the break himself. He needs to push himself to attack in the halfcourt though I like how selective he is BUT get yourself to 18 shots and 6 free throw attempts.
Like I said, i appreciate the stats you brought up, potential assists per touch etc, but they really don’t mean what you think they mean, your interpretation is laughable. There are 23 players in the entire league with higher potential assists than Giddey, 21 are allstars in their prime. Giddey is a generational passer and one of the best passing rookies to enter the league in the past 10 years. Box score numbers? Go look up any advanced metric that measures winning and it has Giddey trouncing Green in every which way. Or better yet go watch a game. The delusion in Greenies are reaching new heights I see.
He sounds much better when he talks like this and enunciates his words fully. Hopefully he grows into this as his play improves.
What a load of horse sht. Every rookies minutes and responsibility has not gone up, Sengun’s has flatlined. Every rookie has not gotten better, your most promising rookie, Sengun, has regressed. You do not play to all your rookies strengths. Ok Green is a poor ball handler so you sit him in the corner, fair enough. But Sengun is a poor 3 point shooter but elite low post scorer, yet you sit him out on the 3pt line and use him like Mike fking Muscala. This coaching staff has catered to Green in every which way, meanwhile neutered the far more promising and better player in Sengun. The way they have handled Sengun is akin to a hate crime. Fire Silas.
Haha! I always knew you were mostly mad about Sengun looking bad, but I didn’t want to call it out. Glad you admitted to it yourself. Why you chose to take your frustrations out in Jalen Green threads instead of Silas threads is perplexing. If Silas was prioritizing Green the way you claim at the expense of all the other players he would touch the ball a lot more and stand in the corner doing nothing a lot less. Direct your disdain and disgust in a more appropriate place. Sengun is being misused, but that has nothing to do with Jalen Green. Even Christian Wood and Daniel Theis would deserve more of your ire than JG. They like one another and want to play more together.
You have not brought up any research or stats to back up what you say, except for some asinine comments about how stats are totally misinterpreted. I have already explained how Josh Giddey's historically high level of touches with little production is an indication of offensive inefficiency. He literally has more touches than Kevin Durant did when he won his MVP with OKC, that's how much the offense flows through him, and he has 12 points on TS 48% and 6 assists to show for it. If Westbrook didn't exist, Giddey would be OKC's historical leader in touches per game. Let me explain in a language that you would understand. You keep bringing up how the 23 players above Giddey in potential assists are mostly all-stars. Let's find a comparison shall we? Michael Carter Williams was 20th in the league in potential assist in his rookie season. He had 84 touches per game and scored more points on the same efficiency as Giddey. MCW was behind a list of all-stars. Elfrid Payton had the 2nd most touches for his draft class in his rookie season, He had far fewer touches than Giddey (67 touches) but was 16th in the league in potential assist, Again he was behind a list of all-stars. Emmanuel Mudiay averaged 74 touches in his rookie season, he was 27th overall in potential assist, behind a list of all-stars. Dennis Smith Jr averaged identical number of overall touches as Giddey as a rookie, was 19th overall in potential assists (again behind a list of all-stars) and scored more points than Giddey on slightly worse efficiency. You are the same type of person to think Jerry Stackhouse is on the same level of Harden, Kobe and Lebron because he averaged 30 points in a season.
I was just replying to the article you posted in this thread, that post was not directed at Green, it was directed at Silas.
Nice nitpicking of players who never improved beyond their rookie season. If you think the 19 year old Giddey has peaked and this is the best he will ever look, after his 4th west rookie of the month in a row btw, you can stay on an island with that hot take.
You are just acting foolish at this stage right, or are you really that foolish? I'm comparing rookies through history with similar touches and offensive efficiency as Giddey, how their career turned out is literally my point. If this is legitimately what you got out of what I typed (or at least the extent that you are willing to make a fool out of yourself), why do you even bother responding. Have some dignity and self-respect and move along.
Sorry but you are the one dumb enough to try to tear down Giddey who is consensus one of the top 3 rookies to prop up up into the last 10 games one of the worst rookies in the entire class. Talk about delusional homer. You would be laughed off the page anywhere besides a Rockets message board.
