@fchowd0311 @apollo33 I don't disagree with that at all. I think there's multiple variables that goes into that trend particularly for Green. Stats are only part of the truth for better and for worse
This is the most I've ever heard him enunciate I bet that's what he yelled at Wood when Wood's feelings got hurt that one game in Denver..
Last game he had 0 shots in the 1st scored like 16 in the second then hardly had any shots in the 3rd.
Yes I see the trend, the players ahead of him at 19 years old in potential assists are all times greats like Harden and cp3 like you demonstrated. Meanwhile the players with higher scoring efficiency than Green are dudes like Avery Bradley and Raul Neto. Also I’m not sure why you keep talking about Giddey’s scoring, I thought I made it clear that I was talking about Giddey’s ability to run the team. That would be like if I brought up Green’s nonexistent passing as a knock on him. I do agree with you that just like there are empty points, there are empty rebounds and assists as well. But the conclusion you are coming to, it seems like you are trying to make the case that Green is the better overall offensive player? That would be a laughable bad take that hardly anyone agrees to besides the most staunch of Green’s cult members.
This in interesting. Can you share where you went to look up how green rates vs rest of NBA in true shooting.
FYI for @CXbby ... Green leads all guards in this draft class in ts%. He's the most efficient guard scorer in this rookie class. I think pretty much every other rookie guard has a ts below 50%. Just shows how hard life is for rookie guards in the NBA.
My bad. It's "notable rookie guards" as in those receiving starter level minutes or drafted in the top 20. Notable Rookie Guards TS% Jalen Green: 51.9 TS% Cade: 49.2 TS% Mann: 49.1 TS% Giddey: 47.8 TS% Suggs: 46.4 TS% Davion: 47.5 TS% Bouknight: 46.8 TS% Primo: 48.4 TS% Grimes 58.4 TS% Duarte 53.9 TS% Dosunmu 61.0 TS%
ok this isn’t close to right, here are all the rookie guards ahead of him (min 15 mpg) Terry Taylor Ayo Dosunmu Austin Reeves Quentin Grimes Aaron Wiggins Corey Kispert Chris Duarte Cam Thomas Bones Hyland Josh Christopher Franz Wagner and Herb Jones are multi positional and have guard eligibility on the site I look at but I’ll keep them as forwards
This is exactly why many of us have been advocating to let him cook. Then the straw man argument of he’s not a point guard so stop trying to make him into one was put out there. This has nothing to do with him playing point guard. It’s about his involvement in the offense and getting into a groove offensively. He’s not a spot up shooter that should be parked in the corner. Yes he would end up with a decent amount of attempts, but he would touch the ball so infrequently in between shots so how could he possibly be in rhythm? He’s not Armoni Brooks or Gary Mathews. Silas had him slotted in a Tim Hardaway JR role and that’s not his game.
But yes some notable ones have struggled. Could be that it’s been tough for rookie guard, or could be that like every draft being “notable” goes out the window pretty soon after draft night, many turn out to be busts. If Jalen can continue his recent trend and bring his season ts up another percent or two I’d be happy with him, at least in terms of scoring efficiency.
Why are you guys still responding to Green haters and Mobley nut huggers? Anyone who can only hate or can't stop jerking off in GARM about a rookie that refused to even workout with us to try and put down our own promising rookie is NOT a Rockets fan and not worth engaging in. Slap Ignore on their ass and move on.
Can I safely assume all of them either play bench roles more so play against opposing team second string defenses or score less than Green in terms of output or a combination of both? For example, for JC, both are the case. He plays against opposing benches and outputs a lot less pts than Green
I see instead of retorting with stats and research, you have decided to be obtuse, and argue completely irrelevant strawman. At what point, did I talk about Green in any statistical or comparative context. I'm arguing your completely laughable idea of "empty" points, whereas literally calling the king of empty stats an effective offensive player. No player has as poor a ratio of points, assists to touches as Giddey in the entire league, and even those that come barely close to it (Lonzo Ball, Draymond Green) are significantly superior defenders compared to Giddey. However, he puts up box score numbers, so I guess that counts? Here's another fun fact, OKC had the worse offense last season as well, and that was with SGA playing only 35 total games and Dortz in his second season. SGA has not missed any games this season, and Dortz is having his best year offensively, but the Thunder are still literally the worse offensive team in the league. I wonder who is dragging down the offense?
Haters are insecure, once they hear the media and fans of other teams are noticing Jalen they will jump on board. They get validation externally so there’s no point you trying to help them from the inside.
