That DVD might be the final nail in the show's coffin, but I don't blame them for doing it. I know Chappelle is trying to protect his artistic integrity and what not, but make a deal and go back to work or just end it and move on. It's like he's kept the door slightly open just so that he doesn't have to be the one to finally close it. He's already said that if they air or sell those eps, that it would be over, there'd be no chance of him comming back.
All THREE unaired episodes??? What happened to all that crap about "half of season" had been filmed? What a let down. RIP Chappelle Show RIP Arrested Development Evan
Interesting. I don't know jack about Mencia, but reading the links it looks like IMDB has absolutely nothing about the German part now (says the mother was Mexican) and that the Mencia name came from living with his aunt and uncle. Either his publicity people went back and erased every trace of it (nothing on the Wiki either) or someone made a mistake that the blogs picked up on. Hmmm....
Maybe they filmed half a season worth of sketches, but had only done three shows (with the audience and all) with them before Dave left. That would explain all the bonus sketches on the DVD.
So wrong. He's half Mexican and half Honduran and I'm pretty sure he's ALWAYS been known in comedy circuits as Carlos Mencia.
Pretty sure he's like half mex, half honduran, half german, etc etc.. he's a total hodge podge of ethnicities. And yeah, he did change his name earlier in his career. He's not a beaner, he's not funny, nor has he ever been funny.
They should have just kept his show going and brought in Wayne Brady as host. I think it would have been almost as funny as Chappele hosting it. Hell, Neil Brennan wrote a big part of the sketches anyways.
Hey, what happened to the half season...Only three episodes...Hell, of course I'm going to buy it but still... RIP Chappelle's Show..
