Was just at the box office (I'm not entirely crazy, I work nearby); there's about 10 people standing in line and none of them know anything. 2 girls answering the phones but not talking to anyone (any time I've called the answering machine picks up).
Sure but again that doesn't mean he didn't cancel because of last night. Also it's not exactly a huge trek from Austin to Houston. He could still fool around on his bike and make a show at 930pm.
So is this the link we would get the tickets at? http://www.symfonee.com/improv/houston/comedians/Bio.aspx?Uid={9b6bc8bf-cdf2-11d3-be74-00a0c960873b}
True. I didn't mean to imply he wouldn't do a show in Houston because he is still in Austin. Also, I think it's pretty ridiculous to think he may have cancelled a show in Houston because of last night. It wasn't as bad as folks are making it out to be. In fact, it seems to be exactly what Dave is expecting: http://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2012/jun/13/review-chappelle-proved-comedy-still-needs-him/ That review pretty much reflects the show in Austin last night with the crowd turning on itself and Dave stating verbatim, "This is like a press conference."
That does sound quite similar. If that happened in Memphis and it's happened on every stop you'd think it wouldn't be a huge ordeal.
Finally spoke to someone on the phone. He claimed that there was "never a show" and they were "hacked", but before that he said it was a "misprint". I'm calling b.s. on this and that seems like full damage control. The information on their website as a little too specific.
If you are looking for some GREAT comedy, the Grand Finale of Houston's Funniest Person Contest starts at 9: 00 pm tonight at House of Blues. Eight finalists, each VERY funny! Only $10 at the door. Best value in H'Town tonight!
.....This is just for those too curious since we may never get to hear anything period Spoiler <object width="480" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/5iYbEoaDBcY?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/5iYbEoaDBcY?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="480" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Comedians hate that. Recently, Eddie Murphy told Chris Rock he wanted to go back and work on his stand up but decided against it because of how everyone records everything, his entire act would be on YouTube the next day. I would literally kill to see Eddie do stand up again. Wonder how many FA-bombs he would drop this time. :grin:
Murphy could enforce a ban on phones and cameras in his shows, and put a bounty on anyone caught recording. It effing sux. The worst part is that people think they are doing you a favor by posting your ish. They claim it's helping to "get your stuff out there".
