so what does mattj mean? anyway, I still listen to 610 in the mornings because I'm usually listening before seven, 1560's show doesn't start till seven. Craig Roberts is just old and Brad Davies is actually carrying him and doesn't need the help. I really don't listen at work anymore. my friend has a show so i listen to his. I also usually listen to the recaps on the weekend since they're on before the other sports stations start talking sports. in the afternoon I flip between 610/97.5/790, still like charlie p, mattj, adam wex if its a little later, and sean and john. just depends on what who is talking about.
I don't get why people would pull the dismisive too cool for school "who listens to 1560" move? I mean this board is seriously tied up in that station. Clutch is on there like every day it seems.
Hoffman is horrible. I love how he taunts 790 and Clear Channel about possible upcoming layoffs when his newpaper industry is dying a quick painful death. I don't mind the guy talk because I get tired hearing the same people calling to b**** about the Rockets, Astros and Texans.
What's with all of the 1560 hate anyways? John and Lance are outright hilarious as a duo and the rest of the lineup is pretty nice. Plus they're loyal to this website.
It's not hate. It's just growing up and getting tired of the same schtick. Even cool hip people like the doublerods get old. Nuno seems out of place there, he's the only one not full of himself there. I do listen to them when Clutch is on and when No Layups come on. I actually listen to 610 more in the morning cause 1560 has crappy signal, Vanderboy is more tolerable and isn't just a football head anymore, Clanton is usually on with them and he's great, and I just have to stomach Andre and his me myself and I anecdotes. 790 - it's all Charlie Palilo, and if you want to laugh at 2 blowhards then listen to Monsters of the Midday
I can do without Hoffy. I still don't get the strippers on the radio? I like John and Lance and Sean and John on 1560. I like Marc and Andre for football talk and Matt and both Adams. Rich needs to go on 610. Charlie P is good, Brad Davies sucks, but C Roberts is ammusing. Dukes and Murphy both suck!! I like Rome, but hate all his callers. Like Mike and Mike. That's pretty much my take on Houston Sports Radio.
1560 all day for me. During Football season, I switch over to Marc and Andre during commercials. Dont understand why some many people are down on Sean and John. Those guys know alot about sports and especially football. I cannot stand Rich Lord and dont know why he still has a job. 610 should just pair Clanton and Jackson in the afternoon and they would have a solid show. CP is fine but his callers are horrible.
Agreed on all points. (Except switching to Matt/Andre). Just can't put up with Radio Andre. TV Andre is ok. Jackson/Clanton would have a great show. Especially during Rockets season.
What time do you listen? Usually they kick up the signal around 7am and it sounds nice and clear to me.

610 blows. adam clanton is crap...the only thing he does that people like is his rome impersonation. 790 is garbage because it seems like every time i ever tried listening to charlie pallilo, he would start a segment with a phone call, then rant for 6 mins about whatever the caller brought up, and then a commercial break....segments were like 6 mins long...it was constant commercials. 1560 is still a young station, but i feel that it is going down the right path and it will pass up the other sports stations, despite being a locally owned station.
