Keep on coming COFers. I never knew we had so many of them! It's funny how so many of these CFers are sticking up for an average small forward. No one is even bashing him. Quit getting emotional. Just look at the stats. It's night and day. And the whole is, if he keeps it up, Dwight, Harden, Garcia is the best 3 man line-up. 144 offensive rating vs. a horrible one with CP.
nawh cp needs to get it together but this is nothing new, some nights his shot is off some it not, he has always had a flat shot so it will never be consistent as some gas it up to be by saying he is our 3rd scoring option. Garcia has a more consistent shot but can't run the floor like CP can, and when Lin and harden are on the floor it's best to have him as a starter because of transition points and his ability to finish on the break vs Garcia. Garcia has to stay fresh for playoffs if we don't have him fresh in playoffs that's a major Blow to the team. CP is younger so he can play more mins now
He's certainly talented enough, but he's still a relatively young player that has been thrust into pretty drastically different situations and has been expected to be something of a rock. He has the body type, the tools, and the dare I say it- cold blooded- demeanor to be a very good complimentary player in this league. You don't come across many 6'9 forwards who: beat out vets for a starting job as a rookie based on their hustle/defense, get publically praised by one of the largest egos in sporting history, who manage to make themselves from a shaky shooter to making half court shots to send games to overtime under some of the brightest, most scrutinizing lights in the world. I understand my endearing desription, while I believe it valid, will not be written about by anyone else in the media perhaps aside from JCF himself. He clearly has more depth to his game than being, in CH's terms, "the most average player in the league" . I hope we keep him, and that Les and Daryl can structure a contract that keeps him happy and lets him spend for at least a bit like those who make big shots like he has thus far in his career.
Evaluating players after two games is for kids or tards. There needs to be a private GARM forum for non-braindead fans.
The whole is, he won't keep it up, it's only been two games, and a 109.7 ORting isn't horrible, it would have ranked top-6 in the NBA last year, and you should stop posting. Immediately.
He'll definitely find his shot. I think he started out slow last year as well. Maybe all the "Parsons is a star" talk in the summer is getting to his head, but it was apparent in the CHA game that he was trying to do too much that he ended up being a ballhog. He just needs to relax and let the game come to him. We all know the last two games isn't even close to what he can do. There's no way Garcia's going to start unless Parsons really stinks it up for a whole stretch of games.
Oh fck me, not just 2 games, but ALL of preseason. shiet preseason sure is a great big sample size I am convinced that a lot of people started watching basketball this year
1. Bashing a player based on a 2 game shooting slump is idiotic given that he's had a history of being productive and actually did things to help the team to win those 2 games. Even good shooters go through slumps-- and often much longer than 2 games, too. 2. I think Garcia will likely be better than Parsons on a good number of nights. They are both pretty good (though not great) players, each with a somewhat different skill set. 3. I am not sure why "who is better" is a very relevant question. I am glad that the team has them both, since the team needs them both-- sometimes even at the same time.
iam is butthurt about Chandler no longer being Jeremy's lover. Chandler dumped Jeremy and upgraded with Dwight. He even switched shoe companies too. Boooo hoo. Bromance over. But why the hell is Chandler always always always pump faking? It never worked, except for one time where it actually drew a foul.
Parsons is tasked with starting with Dwight and Harden. There wont be many shots for everyone. If parsons came off the bench im sure he'd do exactly what Garcia is doing.
Your thread based off two games is laughable. These are the types of posts people remember you for, and not in a good way. Yeah Garcia playing solid and I hope he keeps it up but Parsons is the starter for a reason. He started slow last year and turned it on, it happens. The thing is that he is capable of helping in other ways when his shooting isn't on.
3 games in, It's time to trade Parsons for not being JLin's boy anymore. He's having bad games. Oh wait, he was decent.
