Considering we already have a Solid SF in Budinger.

Anybody else think we should have taken a flyer on Jeremy Tyler

Yes, and we talked about it during the draft....no doubt...same with Whiteside the year before.

Yes. Given out team, I always support taking a flyer on an undeveloped center. Morey will not go boom or bust, he will only take picks that he think are undervalued. This has led to our current predicament.

We passed on Marc Gasol and Deandre Jordan twice. Now, we're banging our heads over how out of reach they are in free agency. Maybe taking flyers on projects in the 2nd round wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Whiteside was a different case. Morey tried to buy a later pick, but no one was selling last year. We dont know who he was targetting. Should he have taken Whiteside at #14 over Patterson?

Would not say Budinger is a solid SF yet.

No why not try something. He might be a bust but he had size.

I think it's fair to say that in the exactly 0 games that have been played since they were drafted, the numerous amounts of buzz coming from the non-existent training camps, and the rumors leaked to the media by "inside sources" who aren't allowed to even take calls from players, we can safely call it now that NO ONE KNOWS, or will know.

For better or worse, Thabeet is the project center the Rockets seem intent on developing. Cheer for him to finally get his head straight and his heart into basketball, rather than trying to covet some other team's player with similar issues.

Nope. Thabeet has a better chance at being an NBA player than Whiteside.

You are assuming that Budinger is staying. Morey trades away all his drafted players before he has to extend them, unless they are great players like Lowry and Scola. Expect Budinger to be gone by the trade deadline.

I always thought Donatus was a throw away pick anyways. I would be surprised if it turns out to be anything but a trade throw in a future move.

Chandler might be a really nice player. Maybe we should wait a little bit and see how he plays before we rush to judgement?

I've always thought it was a good pick. Chandler is a guy that brings something unique to the table.

He's 6'10, can handle the ball well and run the offense. He has a good shooting stroke, and rebounds well as a perimeter player.

He's basically exactly the type of player you take a chance on in the 2nd round.

Now, don't get me wrong, Jeremy Tyler could very well turn out to be a good player, and Chandler could fall flat on his face. But I think it's a good risk to take.

What's funny about all this Captain Hindsight stuff is that Marc Gasol was already 22 in the draft. If we had taken Gasol back then, I bet the whole board would be up in arms about how Morey only take old euro-trash.

Wow, people are still hurting over this? I let it go after draft day. Morey knows what he is doing.

Outside of Yao Ming the team has not drafted a center, while we have tried reclamation projects galore, we have not drafted any and developed them.

    Very bizzare.

Chandler Parsons allows us to sell high on Budinger before he becomes a RFA. Yes they have completely different offensive skillsets, but they both play SF and they can both get it done in their own way. Defensively it's impossible to go below absolute zero, so...yeah

Never noticed that. Everyone he's drafted is gone except Bud. Hopefully PatPat is the exception.
