11.5 mil/ year with bonus for AS selection seems like something parsons would accept. He's a team guy and won't go for just the "most money," he loves his teammates and situation here. Houston also has the ability to say they helped develop him this much and can promise much more improvement in his game.

He should use the snub as motivation not whine about it. But I do feel he should be on the team. Kyle korver is a one trick pony. What will he do when they chase him off the 3 point line.

Did you even watch the video??? They asked him a question and he answered it honestly. His response was not in the least bit whiny.

11.5mil is a **** ton of money for him.

    He's not a 5/57.5 guy.

He's a 5/45 guy. Morey's very extremist with his salary allocations; lots of heavy-salaries(the top 3 guys) Lin(8m mistakes that he wouldn't do again had he had prior knowledge), Asik(8m that's really valued at like 10-12M for Morey's analysis), then minimum guys.

Parsons can eat up Morey's Asik/Lin combo of 16M at 11.5, but we're still a 3rd star away. Unless Les is willing to play 3 stars about ~16-17M on average AND Parsons 11.5mil. It'll be tough.

Very possible though. I can easily see our salary at like 70-75mil with this type of breakdown:

    Howard 20
    3rd Star 17
    Harden 15
    Parsons 11.5
    Players 4-14 1mil each
    Total Salary: 74.5 Mil

I say if he keeps playing like he has or improving he deserves superstar money and I think he will feel like that too. He's a team player but who knows if he would go home to Orlando for top dollar

Parsons is not gonna take less money than that, and I disagree, if he avgs 18-20ppg as a glue guy you pay him that money...you don't need that 3rd star. Teams are going to be lining up and paying him above that (if he continues his season average).

So Parsons followed a great game with a meh game. Maybe he getting "snubbed" is not such a big joke after all.

He should have kept his mouth shut and let his actions do the talking. In the meantime, support your countrymen.

Parsons doesn't strike me as a team guy in regards to $$$, and honestly not many are, even Lin took the most money. IMO, he's gone if another team offers him more money, in the end the NBA is a business.

They all need to keep their mouths shut and just keep working on making this team a consistent threat. All this talk of being snubbed off of teams this week and they just put up 2 back to back losses to the same team. Really should have been two blowouts. In these situations, the good teams at least split the games. Rarely do they get swept. Actions speak louder than words. Tweeting about motivation and all star voting isn't going to win games.

The stats are nice but often times its not all about the stats especially when you're a role player. He's not a defensive stopper or a "specialist" like many of his peers. For example Iggy, Thad Young, Kahwai Leonard are all similar players that that can lock **** down night in and night out and make a major impact on the game.

I love Parsons but he's not top 5 by any means.

    1. LBJ
    2. Durant
    3. George
    4. Melo
    5. Leonard, Iggy, Josh Smith and Gay yes Rudy Gay as much crap as he gets on this board are all better than Parsons. Plus All the guys I mentioned ahead of Parsons at the 5 spot can play both the 3 and either the 2 or 4 spot as well with the exception of Gay maybe. Parsons is too slow to guard opposing 2's and not strong enough to hang with 4's. Yes he's on a great contract for now, sure he's good looking and I can see why he's a fan favorite here with a cult following in a way but don't get it twisted he's just another solid player if you look more closely. I'd say Parsons is right around 10th best with Luol Deng, Gordon Hayward, Nic Batum etc. Parsons to me is the Jack of all trades but a master of none. That can be viewed as a positive or negative depending how you view it.

We NEED that 3rd star. The thing that separates a solid "glue guy" like Parsons from a star is CONSISTENCY. When we have 2 supposed stars that have there fair share of off nights we definitely need that 3rd guy we can bank on. Package Parsons with either Asik or Lin and get that 3rd star or package all 3 and get a star plus solid role player back. They say all good things come to an end sometime... Parsons and his "friendly contract" is almost up. Don't wait till its too late and it becomes a problem or an albatross.

The dirty work guy is usually the college guy, like Laettner in 92 or Davis most recently.

    Yes

You don't hire Dan Fegan as an agent if you are a team guy in regards to $$$.

I honestly believe a team can win a title with Parsons' as the third best player. Morey's talk of wanting that 3rd star is stupid and hopeless.

Not stupid and hopeless, more like not necessary. Besides Spurs and Heat, what other teams have a "big 3"? And chances are OKC and Pacers have a pretty good chance of winning their respective finals this year without a big 3. Pacers' only real superstar is Paul George and OKC has Durant and Westbrook. I will say this about Parsons, he has to improve on the defensive end. He's neglected that aspect of his game but if the Rockets want to go far with Parsons as the 3rd player, he (and Harden) have to improve defensively.
