Shut up. You're making a clown out of yourself by posting all those ridiculous stats. I will put $500 to the tip jar that Chandler Parsons will never be an All Star in his NBA career. Either take the bet, or SHUT UP.
Yea, but by publicly asking for more money (kidding or not) he makes it seem like he doesn't deserve. You know the saying, "Act like you've been there"
Someone's got their panties twisted. He made a perfectly legitimate point; people who are not star material can still make the all-stars. Also, why should he take a bet that you are selfishly trying to force on him or shut up? He can say whatever he wants to, just like you. There is no such thing as "All-Star" caliber though unless we are talking about popularity. That is really what the All-Stars are about now. If people like Chandler, he will be voted in. It's as simple as that. Now if you are talking about STAR caliber, that is different. In this day and age, the two have 2 different meanings.
Luol Deng has been an Allstar each of the last 2 years. What is the difference between his play and that of Parsons?
Weren't you labeled a Kobe fan in the Dish? Or was it LeBron? All I know is I don't think you have as much allegiance to the Rockets as you attempt to portray right now... just sayin.
Parsons can get into Allstar due to injuries to Allstar Reserves.... Question is if he is a perennial allstar or going to just a one time wonder like Devin Harris
What's clownish or ridiculous about the man proving his point? You don't have to be an all time great to make an All-Star team.
Devin Harris wasn't a one time wonder. He got hurt and continued to get hurt which hurt his ability to continue being an All-Star player
There is no point in debating this all-star thing. Some guys have made it that didn't deserve to because they were in a weak conference and/or playing a weak position.
It's not unreasonable at all- I posted numerous examples that prove my assertion that it's POSSIBLE Parsons could make one or two All-Star teams. Your proof is "I know All-Stars when I see them." And you're telling me to shut up? Typical. Oh, about the tip. You think you're going to be held to that if Parsons happens to play for, say, 10-12 years? Yeah, right. You feel free to drop that $500 bet, and I'll bet you..let's see...NOTHING...because I have nothing to bet. You are confident that he's not going to be an all-star? Great! Slap the $500 down. Am I confident he will be one? Maybe. But it's certainly not definite. Parsons suffers a career-ending injury next year and it's over. If he never makes the all-star team, not a shocker. But to say you KNOW he never will? Bizarre. My contention was that it's POSSIBLE. If you're familiar with the English language, POSSIBLE is not a synonym of DEFINITE. My excellent refutations of your point is quite simply because you speak in absolutes, which is ridiculous given the situation.
Given that he is not garbage, he is not a perennial allstar either. Injuries, are you serious? Injuries equals inability. Let's kid not ourselves. His time is gone. I would not wish it upon Chandler. If he makes it one year, I wish he makes it at least twice, or three times.
Exactly. But to say that a player who averaged 15.3 points for an entire season- and in their 2nd season, not like the end of their career- shot 49%, with 5+ rebounds will never make an all-star team? Kinda shaky premise, right? Especially if the Rockets as a team win 1 or 2 championships- CP could certainly "piggyback" in a way on to an all-star team like BJ Armstrong or Richard Hamilton.
