The Spurs would not make him a RFA without KNOWING they would match.

Let's all just sit back and remember what happened last time Chandler got a big head and ran his mouth. Another rude awakening is on the horizon for this kid.

No he's no Batman, but he could very well be Robin.

Cuban thought we were getting Bosh, and hence would match. He never expected to actually have that contract, it wouldn't have all that nonsense if he did.

Sounds like a fair gamble by the Mavs. They have to take a chance on someone and they chose Parsons. Parsons is ambitious and this is his chance to shine.

If he breaks out: good for him. If he doesn't: then he wouldn't be the first above average support player to come up short trying to be the feature player.

Could be Ariza redux. Could be Harden. One things for sure: He will be getting better coaching than before.

What do you think Carlisle and Cuban see in him? Didn't these guy watch game film before deciding to pay $46M?

Let me guess, you probably think the Lillard clincher was his fault as well, right?

So I guess he wanted our of Harden and Howard's shadow? Well, good luck with the franchise changing star thing Chandler. Let's see how you do against other teams' number one defenders!

Same thing the Rockets once thought they saw in Ariza?

The Mavs don't think Parsons is worth that money. Cuban was trying to be cute and screw the Rockets under the assumption we would ultimately match and tying up roster for the next few years. FAIL! I don't care how they try spin this. Now the Mavs are stuck with Albatross of a contract.

I'd expect that to still be on Monta, but Dallas won't be paying him $7m a year again.

So you think the Spurs would have paid Leonard 15 mil before this year?

This guy belongs in Dallas. He will spend more time in uptown than he will in the gym.

A very good gamble. No pre-made stars have been looking to sign with the Mavs. Cuban knew they would have to overpay by a lot and gamble on a good player who could become a great player. A no-lose proposition on their part.
