Nene, on a Championship team would only be listed as 4th or 5th most important player of that team. I based this in what I was observing of his play last season. Nene would never fulfill the traditional Center of the many Rocket teams of years gone by! Only Howard of Orlando would come close to fulfilling the position of the traditional Rocket's Center role. Possibly Morey, no longer considers the position of Center as the traditional Franchise Player . (Just a thought)Y
I'd be happy with either player, they would both help out tremendously. We just don't look like a playoff team with the roster we currently have.

Wouldn't mind seeing this dude in Rockets red. Thabeet can't do this even in his dreams. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ubfVGFOpIoA?hd=1" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You are still not getting my point. For this team to get somewhere, he doesn't have to be. Just playing good defense would be sufficient. Scoring a top center would be great, it's just my opinion that we really don't need one. As i mentioned before, Hill and Patterson would handle most of the scoring off the bench, seeing as they both may be avg. double-doubles(10+pts.,10+rbds.) anyway.
He's underrated as hell. People say he's a poor rebounder, but he had Melo hogging all the rebounds both on the offensive and defensive end. If he were featured on the low post consistently, like McHale will said he would do to big men, he would average 18/10 with a block a game.
Rockets need to get a sf and a cheap center Wilson chandler or Thaddeus Young for sf And Spencer Hawes or Aaron gray at center
