onathan_Feigen Jonathan Feigen Had $12 mill. Needed trade for $16 RT @ChrisMannixSI: Nets reported 4-year, $60-$65 mil offer knocks Hou out of the bidding, source says.
After the trade and Amnesty the Rockets would still only have $14 million in cap space. The Nets are offering Nene $15-18 million per. Stupid money.
Sure, they can still trade for him, no? That of course assuming the Nets and Magic find a compatible deal for both sides.
Well, with a raise every year, I'm sure our bid would be comparable. At least close enough where money isn't really an issue.
I don't think Morey would have gone as high as NJ in the bidding. $16M is seriously overpaying for Nene...
Morey put a value on Nene and I'm glad he won't go over it. Nene is not a Max guy. Hell, Amar'e isn't even a Max guy and he's better than Nene! Nets just went full r****d.
Paying max money for Nene would be Top 5 worst contracts the Rockets ever made along with Matt Maloney's deal, Kelvin Cato's deal etc.
Oh okay, 13 million is okay, but 16 million is not? Thats one less Terrence Williams on your team, big deal.
Even 13 million is a lot. We have enough bad contracts as it is with T-Will and Thabeet but at least we can amnesty Thabeet and use Twill as an expiring asset after next year. There's no way in hell we're offering an extra 3 million per year over 4-5 years. That's an extra 12-15 mil. When you talk about max contracts players that come to mind are Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Durant etc. Not frealing Nene lol.
Nene getting 16 million says a lot about the level of quality of big men in the league right now. If he played in the 90's he would be an afterthought.
