Him banging gives a great chance for the other team to slip away for their own bang. If he flubs the bang of course, which happens more times than not.

i think his beard makes him heavier so he has to sacrifice the power bangs.

After about the first month of last season, he hasn't been "banging" all that much. That's coincided with him becoming more of a floor spacer and active participant in making plays on the perimeter, rather than a Ryan Bowen-style roamer.

He did attempt a tip jam yesterday, by the way, but the ball rebounded away from him.

His game has definitely changed a little bit. His rebounding numbers haven't changed all that much. His overall rebounds per minute have increased, but his offensive rebounds have declined a little, while his defensive rebounds have increased. This all makes sense now that he is handling the ball more. It's good to see that his defensive rebounds per minute have increased. What really stands out is block shots. Last year he averaged .48 blocks per game, while this year he has only .14 blocks per game. He's definitely not as aggressive on defense this year. I suspect he's trying to stay out of foul trouble so his blocks are down this year. However, when you look at what he is doing on offense this year, Parsons overall game has really taken a big step forward.

    He expanded his banging repertoire.

Can't blame a man who wants to bang in more areas than one.

What if someone said, "Tragedy is that all white people underrate Lin...?" 1. Quit your generalizing. 2. Why do you think only Asians are Lin fans?

Because only asians can write about Lin in threads not about Lin and cry how McHale hates him to let play just 33 minutes per game. Right?

I think I recall one of the game commentators last year mention he can't keep doing that. It's flashy, but it causes two main problems

    1) if he's rushing in for a put back slam, if he doesn't get it he's already way behind on getting back to transition defense (which we suck at right now)

    2) if he's going in for the put back, he's committing himself to the ball coming off the rim near him. That means he's not waiting to box out and position himself for an offensive rebound. The put back is high risk/high reward. The safer play is to stay on the ground until he knows where the ball is going to go and fight for the rebound. Less bang....more smart.
