Not this **** again The other poster already said it all but his agent did the right thing, 99% of second rounders don't stay in the NBA after their rookie contract is up. Every 2nd rounder's goal is to stay in the NBA the longest possible time, since even the minimum is a lot more than they'd get overseas. The simplest way i can put it is would you rather have $100,000 now or have a 5% chance to win 1 Million dollars? And I'm not even sure why you're stirring **** up over the "length" of his contract when it's only 4 years long, the same as any rookie contract in the league. So really, when you call his agent a dumbass the only one who doesn't understand anything is you. And no I don't feel bad for Parsons at all. The Rockets took a chance on him when nobody else in the league would, and his agent gave him financial security. Once his rookie contract is up he'll make millions. And I'm supposed to cry tears of regret for him?
I agree with your assessment of Chandler Parsons but I don't see why the fans need to rage about him being "underpaid". He's on a rookie-scaled contract, just like every single rookie in the NBA. You know who else was underpaid? Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, D Rose, CP3, etc. who all vastly outperformed their salaries on year 1.
You take Parsons out of the starting lineup and it should be minus many more games. I believe if you do a trade with just the average player at that position on the trade machine you will get a net minus. That says something.
This, exactly. Horry was the most down to earth, just plain cool MF (celeb/athlete status) ive ever met, dude remembered my name a year later when I ran into him at a different job. Steve Francis was the exact opposite, douche. Kelvin Cato was the dumbest. Parsons wont be Pippen-level good. Dont think too many Rockets fans like that comparison, at all, anyway. Honestly I like the Horry comparison. Besides Dream, Horry might be my favorite Rocket all time, love dudes game & insane level of clutch...would be HOF for sure if he scored more. Maybe best role player ever IMO...definition of one anway. I can see Parsons having a similar career, hopefully the ring count too if we can hold on to him.
I really miss Chandler's banging from last year. We all could never get enough of him going hard to the rim, right?! But what we can be happy about is that now, his banging has been a little bit more fluid and more mobile compared to the rugged Chandler banging we were used to from last year. I just hope he tries to be as hard bangable as he was last year after the All Star break this year. Mr. D
He had 3 offensive rebounds in the game vs. Bobcats and I think 2 of them were immediate layups, next to this dunk. I don't care about the flashy putback dunks as much as some do, but it meant he was hustling and trying to get the rebound. I want him to be more aggressive and this is a good sign of that. He's tall so he can do that, but in case he misses it we need somebody ready to take his man if need be. I guess that's a problem with not many guys being able to guard the SF and our lack of getting back in transition. Parsons has become a smarter player and opponents and focus more on him now too.
Sorry but guys like Chandler are all over the league. I'd be careful about his contract. A guy like him, popular with the fans, could easily get overpaid. He's marginally better than an average NBA starter at the 3.
