Question for Austin/SA folks... I haven't been able to watch the news, but are the roads expected to be dangerous tonight around Austin? I'm supposed to play tonight in downtown Austin and the manager just asked if we should shut it down or not. We've got a player coming in from New Braunfels and I don't want him to be taking any unnecessary risks. Especially if no one will be out tonight anyway. Instead of trying to catch the news I guess that I could get a more comprehensive answer from trusty Clutchcity.
I think the worry is that it's supposed to continue into the evening before it stops. It'll then taper off, but if the temp is freezing or right around it, there might be some icing problems that arise. I think the temp. is expected to hover right around 32 or 33 degrees, so it's tough to say for sure. Those several degrees will be crucial.
I wonder if anyone will go out tonight, I doubt the roads will be that bad, but if it does freeze the bridges will ice over. We have one more big band of snow expected here in Austin...in about 30 minutes....made a snow man (small one) and had a snow ball fight with my oldest. Neat ! DD
I'm still waiting for my oldest to get home from school so we can make a bigger snowman. I don't know if people will come out tonight or not. Normally our crowds on Tuesdays are there because they are from out of town and already staying downtown anyway, so driving is not an issue. They said the bar was pretty busy for a Monday last night so I think that there might be a group in town. It's been a fun day though.
Yeah, I made a snowman today too! It was like medium size i guess. Very proud of it though. First one ever. Have waiting long years for this moment!
Couldn't agree more, but one last hurrah of snow flurries would be nice, since we're already cold, wet, and miserable.
Might not see snow next week but we're in for another colder than normal and wet weather pattern for the first week of March as well.
Is that Friday? Lows in the 30's highs in the 50's with some rain. Saturday should be great but cool.
When did I miss the memo that we were going to actually have seasons in Texas? I am loving it. I am dreading sweltering in 100 degree heat with 90 percent humidity and swarmed by mosquitos.
