Bleh. Ok everyone can jump off again. Not cold enough for snow again. Edit: 00Z still coming in. Looking more interesting 27th and beyond though. Strong shot of cold coming into the US.
Texas blizzard of 2010. Looks like Austin gets in on the action doesn't look cold enough here but who knows. Edit: btw, I need to add this. Even though the models shows this, it is 300 hours out. The chance of this verifying is about the chance of the Texans making the playoffs. But there is a chance.
North and west of Houston according to that computer model, but 300 hours out is a LOOOOONG time out for a computer model. They just aren't that good yet.
We've got an El Nino weather pattern this season that more than likely is going to give Gulf coast several more chances for winter weather.
Wow. Check out the bottom section of this Meteogram! Predicting numerous days of winter weather for the first week of the new year. This can only mean it will be 70 degrees that week.
Woo. GFS still shows a snowstorm for Texas in the new year. Might even get some here in Houston if this verifies. Which is highly unlikely...
The last 2 GFS runs have been crazy. The 0oz had 1.75 inches of liquid precipitation just north of Houston & this one has around an inch. If the snow were to fall at a 10:1 ratio then we're talking about 10-17 inches of snow in the Houston area. It has happened before. The last few weeks these models have shown extreem cold and snow in the long range but backed off as the date neared.
Are we supposed to get some snow today. Alot of ppl from Dallas are saying they are getting some snow right now.
No snow in Houston with this storm. The snow in Houston's forecast has been like a mirage the last few weeks. I keep seeing it towards the back end of the 14 day forecast and that's where it stays. With very strong winds, Dallas is expecting blizzard type conditions this afternoon.
Yup. I wish it would snow tomorrow, too, but oh well. I think this is supposed to keep up for another few hours.
