That makes some sense. I wonder if they'll have experts come in and testify to that effect? I don't think it is something either side can do much to flesh out, I'd doubt. I think it'd be up to the jury's experience with anal sex, as strange as that would be. The prosecution could counter that by saying she initially consented and then changed her mind, but that would weaken the case considerably. Anyway, I have a feeling that this whole angle is actually just a made-up rumor that will soon be forgotten when the actual case is presented. I guess we'll see.
Having a 350 pound, 4% body fat thug threatening to kill you is a slightly different story. When your life is on the line, things change. But as far as making the case easier for Kobe...anal sex, even when it's done with both partners wanting it, can be very painful and can leave visible evidence of something having been there. It's not as often you'd see bleeding or scars or something around the vaginal area, even during rough sex. But for anal (especially if it were her first time) it can happen. So at this point it basically comes down to a he-said/she-said kind of thing. And it's innocent until proven guilty, so I seriously doubt he'll go down for this.

well thats the #1 reason most straight guys think it is. so why do you think it is digusting (sic) then? she's 19 so she probably hasn't done that before and maybe she said OK to it initially then told him to stop but he didn't. that is still rape.
