I don't care about the weed, but it would make me upset if I was a fan of either the Grizz or the Heat...cause it's about responsibility, discipline, basic things like that.

They obviously care more about partying with girls and getting high than following the NBA rules. They broke rules that none of the the other 67 rookies did. They could have waited a few days and got high after the camp.

It's just not a good indicator of attitude. There's a lot of arbitrary or questionable rules, but you generally have to follow them if you want to succeed in the NBA. They've already jeopardized their starts with possible suspensions. That's just not good for the team.

And what does my age have to do with driving drunk or driving high? I would think that most folks would be against both those activities...aren't you? or do you support folks driving while high?

Good thing we got rid of Arthur. And then to thing I feared we'd be stupid and take another midget in Mario Chalmers also.

Way to help your kidneys out Arthur

I agree with this, I dont smoke but its not my business if someone does. It is illegal and these guys take advantage of something im sure everyone here would want to be apart of.

Oh, and I wasn't rolling my eyes at the driving high part.
I know it's bad, but I was just saying that pot isn't as bad as people think it is, sure it can cause accidents but according to one of your links it only contributes to 2.5 percent of fatal crashes.. in comparison to 29 percent with drunk driving.

oh and I don't want to disrespect my elders therefore I told you to disregard the rolling eyes part. Therefore making age relevant.

whoa, people, people, people... you guys are missing the point. this isn't hearsay or circumstantial indictment, they were caught red handed AT WORK, during the first week on the job. every other professional would get fired immediately. the transgression here is not possession of narcotics, it's lack of respect for your work, and in this line of work there happen to be alot more people watching you.

this story isn't the same as josh howard admitting he partakes of herb in the offseason, nor is it really on the same level as getting caught by the league through their testing program. they brought the drugs to camp. as an admittedly casual stoner this boggles my mind. look rookies we get it, you guys want to get high like the rest of us, and most of america doesn't even give a **** what you do off camera, but show some maturity! just wait a couple of weeks. if you absolutely CANNOT resist smoking for a few weeks, then you either : a) have the maturity of a 10 year old or b) need an intervention. anybody who smokes weed knows that it's not worth losing ANYTHING over. if it costs you your job, reputation, friends, then you aren't recognizing the value of the important things in your life.

very, very disappointing start for two basketball players that i would like to see succeed.

Out of curiosity, are your parents aware of your "interest" in weed?

Thats because mar1juana is a "safer" drug than alcohol. Yes, alcohol is a drug too. Only thing that makes alcohol not look as bad is because its legal.

First off, mar1juana can stay in your system for up to 30 days. So those numbers may be skewed. You can smoke a blunt right now, quit smoking, get in an accident 3 weeks from now and they'll say you had mar1juana in your system. Now, I'm not advocating smoking weed and driving at all, but if you compare the alcohol related deaths to mar1juana related deaths, alcohol wins in a Texas-sized landslide.

Back to the topic, not a good look at all for these two. I say smoke it on your own time, and not near your place of work. They got to remember its still illegal so they have to play by the rules. At a rookie transition program of all places! LOL, was it that boring? This is typical of young guys so hopefully this should teach them a lesson.

At the very least, we can conclude that neither of these guys are very bright. I mean, they were stupid enough to do something against the law, and company rules, the first week working. And they weren't smart enough to get caught.

I could care less if a member of the Rockets smoke weed all the time. Just don't let it affect the team.

As for driving drunk vs. driving high, has there ever been a study done on the probability of incidences. I mean, alcohol and tobacco kills more than ANY other drug in existence, yet you can't say they're more harmful than cocaine of heroin. It's their widespread nature which is the cause of incidents.

Of course, not putting weed in the same class as the more harmful drugs on the street. But just saying... :)

They brought weed and picked up chicks and partied while they were at mandatory camp. They got caught by NBA security. They're acting like spoiled brat high schoolers who got sent home.

Well put... You've got to remember though that they're still 20 and 22 which is not young by any means but I know I did some stupid ass stuff back when I was 20. I'm sure there's plenty more who do this and or worse activities around the league yet they just don't get caught. The more money and fame you have the more invincible you think you are so hopefully them getting busted this young can set a good example to show more responsibility throughout the rest of their career. Pretty boneheaded of them though regardless.

Smoking anything will cause problems. There are alot of carcinogens produced by smoking. There also many other substances and impurities than the leaf being smoked in a cigar/cigartette/joint. Eating it would be safer, as you aren't getting smoking by-products.
