who knows maybe we can even get Le Bron this is a team were if Lebron leaves there a lottery team so if he decides to leave i think we might just have a shot slim but a shot
He traded Landry for Martin and you dont think he'll trade Brooks for Bosh? crazy lolz. They still have Llull that nobody ever mentions as an asset.

"I've decided to not return to the Cavs..." then yes...yes there would be a chance. If he says that though I start trembling a bit and hope Hill+Martin works out, because then he's probably taking someone with him to NYK. If Lebron were smart he'd come here to a team that has a great supporting cast already here, ready and waiting for someone to lead them. No matter what we'd give up we'd still contend...but maybe if Lebron were the case the only way the Cavs make it up to their fans is take Yao...
I believe the game plan is to go after Stoudemire this summer. DM's crew have a tendency to get the players that the really want. This analysis is true, hopefully we can get one of the big time guys
yup everybody forgets about Llul he is gonna be a beast coming of the rockets bench for KM this team will be a contender for sure next year and will go deep in the playoff this year wcf this year and the whole enchillada next year
lets look at the big 5 free agents stoudamire, wade, james, bosh and johnson. who more likely to stay their team and not be willing to give up 30 million dollars. stoudamire, bosh and wade as of now dont have much of a chapionship team and mostly like be looking for a sign and trade so they wont lose 30 million by just signing with a new team. bosh and wade may have a wink wink deal and say bosh sign and trade with miami and wade stays. what do the heat have to offer to more than houston than a package starting with scola or brooks with battier and jeffiers expiring contract to make the contract work with at least several draft picks if the heart are unwilling to offer beasley. would johnson signing at new york and go to bigger city offset the lost of the 30 milion to play along with one of the five to new york. johnson also would be playing for his old coach in new york be enough for him to give up 30 million dollars, with kevin martin already in houston dont need a another shooting unless willing to go with johnson and martin backcourt. lebron probably would be the only one stay in cleveland. wade would stay if one of them would join him in miami I could see all them except johnson joining wade in miami. with yao and martin houston now looks more attractive than with just yao, with two level allstar would one of them consider houston as a sign a trade?
I agree. But if Lebron is in a sign & Trade the other team would probably be giving up a lot of depth. This is Lebron we are talking about. He's on another lever than Bosh and Amare. Lebron is ALREADY a HOFamer. His MVP and Gold Medals would get him end if his Career ended today...and I think he'll win MVP this year also...whole nother topic though
I cant imagine Amare/Martin/Brooks on this team where is the defense? Has Nash never wanted to team with Yao before?
Why is everyone so hyped up about Amare? He is a pretty good player, but he had the huge benefit of playing with Steve Nash all these years. Neither Brooks nor Lowry have the playmaking abilities Nash possess, and by playing without Nash we may be seeing an exposed player. Just look at Shawn Marion. Bosh is a much better choice, but if we don't get him Amare is not an improvement. We need a guy who can effectively create his own shots when given the ball (a guy like Landry or Bosh), not someone who relies on other players to get him the ball at the right time and position.
Rileydog and worzel both bring up good points here. The fact is, from a FINANCIAL standpoint, Erick Dampier's non-guaranteed contract will be the single best sign-and-trade asset in the NBA this summer. Dallas's problem will be putting together enough TALENT to make it worth Toronto's while. Sure, worzel, they could take back Marcus Banks's salary. But that's not much incentive for Toronto to facilitate Bosh's exit out of town. The Mavs would likely have to part with Beaubois (who I think could become a star in this league) and at LEAST two future first rounders (2011 and 2013, with little to no protection). Back to the Rockets, though. Because the Rockets will be hopelessly over the cap this summer and cannot use any cap room to facilitate any Chris Bosh sign-and-trade, they will need to be careful to send the Raptors back as little salary as possible. Doing the math, Bosh would command the max (which for him will be about $16.57M). Under the league's trade rules that salaries of teams over the cap must fall within 125% + $100,000 of one another, the Rockets would need to send Toronto a MINIMUM of $13.175M. The Rockets would need to include either Battier or Jeffries to match salaries, although I don't think the Raptors would be particularly interested in paying those players' salaries (as worzel alluded to above). Hence, the Rockets would have to include a disproportionately large amount of talent in any Bosh package, much moreso than Dallas would with a package including Dampier's contract. Also, Les would definitely need to throw $3M in cash into the deal in order to offset the salaries coming over to the Raptors. (Quick side note: How ironic would it be if the Rockets got Chris Bosh over the Knicks by including Jared Jeffries in the package? That would be priceless.) I would think that Morey would readily offer up Jordan Hill in the package. Perhaps also Chase Budinger. While Toronto would insist on the Knicks picks, I would hope that Morey could convince the Raptors to take back the Rockets' own 2011 and 2013 first rounders. The problem is, draft picks count for $0 as salary in trades. Unless you're offering up Brooks, Budinger, Hill AND your recently signed 2010 lottery pick, I'm not exactly sure how you make the salaries match without having the Raptors take on another player they just don't want (e.g., David Andersen). Perhaps Colangelo would like a Chuck Hayes. Perhaps a sign-and-trade of Scola would fix this problem, but good luck getting Luis to agree to a new contract in early July. Bottom line: a Bosh sign-and-trade will be difficult for Houston. But if anyone can make it happen, it's Daryl Freakin' Morey. In Morey I Trust.
The question is which team would mostly to trade wade, lebron, stoudamire, and/or bosh in a sign and trade with out getting an allstar level player back and rather than just sign one of the four if for example if wade decides to go to new york with either one of the other four or go to chicago and go home would miami just sign stoudamire and johnson to replace wade? Cleveland, Miami, Phoenix, toronto, and atlanta would tell tham ok leave and leave 30 million on the table?
Not unless Les had a sign on bonus up his sleeve of 20 million to sign a player outright. This would suggest they would be leaving only 10 million on the table to a team that has no annually state tax.
The three elites whant money but also a ring. if u go to ny they still have to build a pretty deacent team around u which some teams never get it right and some teams get it to late. why not go to a ship thats already built but need a capting to stear it
I could see scola ( sign and trade), battier, and with multiple picks from houston over what dallas has to offer. houston also still have jeffries to offer them to dump calderon on us and houston still would have their pick to sweeten the deal..... scola would start in toronto, battier gives them defense. with two picks from the knicks and houston still have brooks and their pick in 2010 to offer the raptors.. morey prove that their is no untouchable player on the roster with the trade of landry. I would start with scola, battier and their 2010 pick with the thinking of the knicks picks to sweetin the deal. i think toronto would what talent in return and drafts picks and houston has more than dallas
Another minor piece we will get out of this trade: a $3m trade exception for Landry. The Rockets can take back all of the other salaries using just TMac, so Landry (and Dorsey) turn into small trade exceptions. Minor deal, but the type of piece that makes trades easier.
Errrr, if I'm not mistaken. A SnT will be done only if the FA wanted to go to that team, not the team choosing the trading team. Hence if Bosh wanted to go Rox, its up to Raptors to decide are they willing to do lessen the losses or to gain nothing at all. They can't do a SnT to Dallas/SA if Bosh does not want to go there.
Dallas has the better on paper assets and will probably trade for LeBron. I can already invision him in a big spending money market like Dallas. I can see Wade staying in Miami followed by Amare and Boozer too.
